What would it take to beat 2002 ls1 built/spray

So what would It take to beat in the 1/4 mile a built 2002 ls1? Built auto trans. Stoke bore/stroke.also giving it a 150 to 200 shot.
That would be with a SS 5th gen Camaro. Any input would be great

If you are a M6 it will take a ton of parts. Heads, cam, LT headers, supercharger, and or nitrous. Clutch, 9inch rear, full suspension, 18inch or smaller wheels with drag radials or slicks. Most importantly a big time driver mod. If that 02 LS1 is not running mid 10's or better in good DA I would be very surprised.

It sounds like the car has some good money into it. It could honestly be a 9 second car on spray. and a 10 on motor. Depends on what the set up is.

You have no chance in h$ll with just a cam! That car should be mid 11s on motor VERY easy with 10s possible depending on the rest of the setup!
Maybe 9s on the spray!!!
Your 5th gen...

Cammed
17" rims with a real slick
200 shot spray
You have gears already so thats good
good axles
one piece drive shaft
If you can launch the h$ll out of that thing and drive well, then you have a fighting chance. With a cam and spray you have a 10 sec car, but will it actually run 10s is a hole different story.

Don't forget a 4th GEN weighs a lot less than a 5th GEN as well.

I'm in the process of replacing my drive shaft and axels, I'll also be doing a cam. My complete mod list would hopefully be as follow from here to feb of next year.
1.4:11 gears
2.trailing arms and tie rods
3.axels and drive shaft
4.305/35/19 drag radials m/t
5.cam DONT know which one..tsp 231/236 or night fury
6.h&r lowering springs
7.bassani lt and full exhaust
8.sct tuned
9.cold air inductions intake
10.ported throttle body and intake
11. Ported stock heads if I have the dough
I'll also be a getting a KB so I'll really have to do my homework see what cam would work best with that set up..... $$$$$$$$$$$ wife not likey the Camaro

You are going to need a strong clutch, 18inch drag radials at a minimum like a 305/45r18, maybe even a 16 or 17inch slick. Forget 4.11 gears with a blower. You will run out of gear in 4th not to mention have no 1st gear traction. Leave the 3.45's or do 3.70's. Whipple is a much better blower than KB so I would recommend that one instead. With your mod list plus my alterration recommendations you will have a chance IF you can drive REALLY well.

Just to piggy back on this. The fastest stick car (Gen5) that I am aware of, I'm sure someone has gone quicker, has every part available, makes over 800 rwhp and is a 10.48 car. Take that for what it's worth but it's very difficult to get the M6's to go fast. In an auto, I make 733 and ran a 9.81 with the stock suspension. Just goes to show ya! Good luck!!!!!!!!

Yeah I was trying to say his chances are slim even with all those parts while still being nice about it. Furthermore the guys I know of who are really fast in a stick car will tell you to have at least 1 spare trans, clutch, and rearend because its not a matter if something will break but when. Really hard and EXPENSIVE to go fast in a stick car.

I'll be running the 4:11 with the cam/head combo, and I'll go from there if I feel it's to much gear, I'll re gear it to where it feels right depending on what size tires ill be running..thanks for the help. I'm a serious newby when it comes to cars( obviously)..I come from drag racing quads on sand,I've been doing that for over 15 years and there was a time when I first started racing quads that I felt like I had a ton to learn, and I kind of feel like that about trying to set this car up.....live and learn and break $hit and do it over until you get it right...thanks

Its really just the manual trans cars that are hard on parts when going that fast with that much power. You could buy a nice 4thgen for 10k put 20k of mods in it maybe less if you choose to run nitrous and run that fast. Just make sure its a auto.
I myself might get a 4th gen put a 4L80E, 9inch, built motor with boost or nitrous and shoot for 9's.
