Some of us are doing all we can to keep up. I got my LSX block and CNC'd LS7 bare heads. The custom crank from Callies will take time. I am still looking into the pistons and mechanical compression ratio. I plan on a magna charger.

The jury is still out on this and as to how much punishment the A6 can take before going wapow. I will wait and find out first before making a hasty decision. I have been told there is the 4L8E route if necessary.

As for people talking about how much HP/Tq the tranny & Rear end are going to take, it's going to be much cheaper to upgrade & not have to find out how much it can take. I keep hearing people say 600hp..600hp..600hp..etc..but nobody knows for sure. Anybody know how they actually find out how much HP & Tq these take? I thought it was the amount of Tq & how hot the equipment got, not only the amount of Tq.

i.e.....There's a huge difference in how hot something is going to get when the engine is at 3500-6500 rpm's for 15 seconds at a 1/4 mile track compared to 3500-6500 rpm's for 20 minutes at a race track.

Sorry for the thread hijack...back on topic.

I agree with people saying it's going to be cheaper upgrading the internals & tossing on a supercharger & upgrading some other things here & there, rather than throwing in an LS7/LS9. The only thing those people are wanting to do is "be different". I'm one of those people as well with my Xtreme, just not with the Camaro.

Being unique and knowing it certainly can have the advantage while being mistakenly perceived as one of the numbers. In this case, its good to a wolf in sheep's clothing. I certainly have had the most fun driving "sleepers".

Hehe, I am with you.

Really the crate engines from GMPP have passed stringent validation process that give people a certain level of comfort.

There are many ways to get to a goal.

I enjoy all the different flavors of mods.

Our LS9 deal wil be different that the projects currently underway.
We will have more details as our program continues.

I like the LSX block idea with the TVS.

In my opinion it is not a reasonable nor feasible way to go. A LS9 retails for $29990 alone, then you would have to get an upgrade fuel pump and other stuff like a stronger clutch, stronger axles(remember even the C6 Z06 break axles).
In top of that add the labor and the tuning and other minor stuff like air filter etc, remember, everything counts, you would still have to get some air filetr that fits the huge LS9 throtle body.

Then what? well, you would need bigger tires. I don't think is worth at all. I rather take a reliable simple bolt-on LS3 and call it a day. If you want a LS9 decafeinated buy the Cadillac CTS-V. At the end you would spend what a new Z cost new and still have similar results straight line only.

The LS3 proven to be an awesome engine, it makes great power with simple bolt-ons(cam, headers, cai, tune). Even going with the S/C would be a better option. It gets to a point where too much power in a chasi that is not makde to handle that much power can result is a bad combo. For instance too much wheel spin.
