What the heck do dealers do all day

Seriously, i want to know what is keeping them so busy with no customers in store. Bcuz they sure as hell dont answer their phones or respond to emails from paying customers. I am so sick of ill call u back with that info and not hearing anything for days and weeks. Its like i have to beg them to do what i consider basic work. I dont think its all dealers that are like this(Love you Becky) but holy shit does it seem like these people are laziest people ever.

If you are a dealer or was please help me understand why the heck is it ok to ignore a customer who would like nothing more than to pay you 1000's of dollars

That sucks. I just purchased my 5th new car thru my sales manager last Saturday. Called me back and texted me in a matter of seconds. I guess when you keep on coming back giving them your business they don't want to turn you down

ok since you're an awsome dealer what is it that the rest of your sales ppl do when they are not selling cars. you are obviously providing an awsome service to us here and selling a crap ton of cars as a side job

soooo......... i think my do nothing dealer is trying to cause me to lose out on $1000 private offer. i dont know how the shipping process works but something tells me that they may let my car sit at the distro center until after the new year

As long as it's invoiced to them, they
should be able to "sell" it to you. They'll
chalk up another sale for the end of the
year and you'll be able to take advantage
of the offer - give them a call

yea i know i can do that but im kinda Uncomfortable with buying a car sight unseen. i know that its new but what happens if "murphy" shows up and it gets damaged who's responsible for repairs? plus damaged = not new. i dont think i trust these guys that much. What would be your recommendation. this is so frustrating

There is a benefit to them to "sell" one
more before the end of the year. Why not
ask them if they would do it with the
understanding that if something was seriously
wrong with the car you wouldn't take it. Most
dealers don't have any control over getting the
car from the distribution point to the dealership.
So they aren't stalling intentionally I'm sure.
Besides, the Private Offer doesn't cost them
anything to give to you, it's free money

THATS what is bugging me so much is that its in their interest to sell the car now and not wait. but the seem so uninterested in this sale its staggering. i FINNALY got my sales person to answer the phone a while ago and he had no clue what was going on. ive sent this guy like 10 emails telling him and other sales that i wanted tires put the car as soon as its offloaded and a rim and tire warranty. i know the have little to no control over the shipping process its just been the " yea it wil be here tomorrow" then no info no contact for days i call today "yea it will be here next week sometime" :mad0 259:

Man they better hook me up with some serious goodies if they want a good customer review. cuz this is terrible customer service

So, is the 'private offer' something the dealer can get for you? I thought it was something a person had to come across on their own.. also, do you know if the private offer applies to any/all sales (ie employee/supplier/dealer employee)

I sold American Motors cars for 7 years back in the day. Yup, Gremlins, Pacers (Wayne's World), Matadors (What’s a matter Dora?), Javelins, Ambassadors and Hornets. You can call yourself a salesman when you sell a Pacer to a guy that wanted a Camaro. We spent a lot of idle time staying organized and following up with prospective buyers or calling previous customers making sure I wouldn’t be forgotten. You must maintain a relationship and rapport with clients. I also spent time ordering cars, managing the floor plan with local banks and jockeying cars around on the lot and between different AMC dealerships. I had little time to spare to be honest about it.

i completly fine with hanging out during down time. i am the king of bullshitting at work. but when ya got a customer with cash in hand 15 min to do the deal or at least cal email text hey just so you know what the status is thats not asking much is it.

I'm in the same boat. My SS is also "stuck" in distro, 30 miles from the dealer. Been there since 12/24 and there is no info when it will be sent over. I actually called GM Customer Service for an update but also to inquire about the $500 current offer _and_ the $1000 private offer I too also have. Well, long story short if I don't take delivery by the expiration date, I loose the private offer. I also talked to my dealer and they did offer to sell me the car now to get the offers (they started paying interest in it Thursday so they would love to get it off their book) but I too feel weary to pay for something sight unseen. I was told by Customer Service to call their Marketing Support when the car does come in and see if they can do something if it does come in past the deadline, but I seriously doubt they will do anything but a "I'm sorry". Sucks that I can't take advantage of the offers for it's a lot of money but it is what it is.

Just puzzled as hell why a vehicle would sit in a rail yard for a week...
