So Why Not Use Rear O2 Sensors LT Headers?

Just wondering why rear O2 sensors are not used with long tube headers?

You can still install them, however, they are useless after being put so far down line, behind (Or in) a high-flow cat or non-catted pipe... They basically just grab information to tell if the catyllitic converter is working efficiently or not. Once you go with the LTs with the highflows or no cats, the calibration is too far off to work with them so thus rendering the rear o2's useless. So no reason to install them or not.

You can tune around your Cats to make the rear 02 works effectively, but most shops just turn them off because the rears are only used to measure the effectiveness of the cats.

You do need your front O2s in working order.

Goes a lot deeper than that too. You cannot get the proper emissions from the LT header/aftermarket high-flow cat.

However, ARH's SHORTY headers actually are cleaner emissions-wise than the stock exhaust manifolds. They are CARB certified. Once again, Shorty's with the stock cats though.

Use the rear holes for a wideband to measure your AFR when tuning or checking on a canned tune.

I just bought some ARH LT. question, when installing do you still plug the rear O2 sensors in even thought they don't do anything or do you just let them dangle?
