It will be more than $150 but it will be a blast. I am definitely up for it (depending on the date).

Last time I did this it was most like $300 and we had 16-20 guys I think. That $150 per additional person is on top of the base flat fee.

They open the gate and say "Have fun! Let us know if you go off track".

North Course is cheaper than Full Course, but for our cars having the full course is more fun because it includes the big straightaway and the upper S's.

I'm interested.

So would the $3590/$4850 be divided up amongst all the drivers? Then it's an extra $150 for each driver after the initial 6?

I was thinking TOTAL cost devided between all of us.
shouldbeabout 500.or so Each for track rental and rooms...

Last time I did it the fee included a garage and a nice meal on Sat night at the track facilities. Really sweet deal. I am in if we can get a good date. It is an absolute blast.

Not 100% sure on that. In the past people have brought non-driving significant others without it costing extra, I think. Would check to see.

Yep. I'd suggest booking solo and seeing what happens if/when you show up with a date

Maybe we should see if we can get a couple/few local shops/reps to sponsor a day there! I'm sure some PR skillz and a little effort we could get a huge chunk or all of the rental covered....then just pay for attendees on our own

VIR has an online calendar that shows some dates later in Jan and Feb already filling up: http://virnow.com/track/calendar/

The Track Club USA event on Jan 26/27 is $350 for the two days (not including food or lodging) plus you need to join their club (minor fee). Note a lot of Mustangs will be there for that one. It will be more organized than the "open the gate" kind of event discussed in this thread.

If you have never run an HPDE before, it would probably be a good idea to go to a more organized event first to learn how it all works, rather than a private testing day like what is being discussed in this thread.

Weather can be an issue in the Jan/Feb dates. When it is cooler, engines will run great but tires will take a few laps to warm up to where they are sticking well. Regardless, leave TC ON for the added insurance. Even with warm tires I can't help but think that that your traction is not as good as a warm day on warm pavement. If it is really frigging cold or if it is snowing there is often a money back cancellation policy. Organizer should confirm with VIR, though - not sure how that works.
