I know the zl1 comes without the large factory resonators halfway down the undercarriage. Apart from that, are the two exhaust systems the same? Thank you for your help.
ZL1, 1LE, hell even the V6 comes with quad exhaust these days. You can get a stock system, or aftermarket system meant to replace a stock system that has quad tips.

All engines have an option from the factory to get quad exhaust (with a manual transmission. (manual or auto for ZL1, quad is standard))

Hi there

I live in Switzerland and i have a 2012 Camaro 2SS with AT. I woud like to upgrade with the ZL1 Exhaust System. For our road law, it is absolutely necessary to connect the exhaust valve to the electrical system. Thus, the noise can be adhered to regulations.
It must be an automatic control from the car, not a mild to wild solution. Otherwise, I receive no appraisals of the state.
Can somebody tell me if it’s possible with my camaro?
Sorry for my poor english…

Best regards
Matthias

There is a difference between the 1LE and the ZL1 diffuser (valance). The 1LE one will bolt right up to an SS, but if you use the ZL1 one, you should buy the exahust shields (and maybe the splash guards) too, but the abasorber is different. So you either have buy a ZL1 absorber or modify the SS one. The ZL1 diffuser wraps around to "complete" the the look of the side skirts, so more hardware is needed. I found the 1LE one as cheep as $91, but the whole ZL1 package might cost you $400 or more.

my problem is....is that I just want to add the ZL1 diffuser....and the quad tips. I actually want to keep my stock mufflers....but I don't think I'll be able to. There isn't enough room to move the tips over to be centered with the ZL1 diffuser. So....I think I'm going to have a pair of magnaflows welded in so the tips can be added....

Ok my SS came with the dual mode exhaust like the ZL1 has. Is the gm npp exhaust actually a Corsa exhaust??

No it isn't. The OP was referring to using a Corsa aftermarket exhaust originally built for the ZL-1 and putting it on his SS. He's not talking about a factory ZL-1 dual mode exhaust, commonly referred to as NPP here because the is the RPO code on the build sheet.

OP

The Corsa and SW ZL1 exhaust systems (I have the SW system) will fit but you will not only need a ZL1 diffuser but an absorber as well (2012 SS use the same absorber as the ZL1). Heat shields are not required but are highly recommended. You can buy the entire kit from Roger's Chevy. They are a sponsor for this site and Mareen is totally awesome. She shipped my complete diffuser kit to me for free (shipping) and in three days....

Look at the DIY section for installation. There are several methods people have used for an SS..

...and you will love the sound it makes when you are finished...

I've done a few of these for clients. I'd recommend getting the 1LE or NPP for SS rear valance.

It will fit the lines better. Unless you plan to buy the splash guards as well.

Hi there

Thanks for the answers. How can i connect the valves with the camaro intern electrical system? I need to program the valves so that they only open at a certain pace of the speed or RPM. Do i need a electrical box or something?

Which shop can send me this exhaust system to switzerland for a good shipping price?

Regards

Matthias

That sounds like a great deal of effort to me, and there are amazing systems out there that you would really be happy with. If money is a concern then I understand, as for the money the NPP is AMAZING(I love mine). If money is no concern and you are up for suggestions I would suggest looking at the Corsa ZL1 catback and the Retro Chambered catback. Both are great at eliminating drone, and both sound absolutely AMAZING. Just my $.02 and I hope you get what you really want, wish you luck. To answer your question, try Gen5DIY to see if Ofer will send you the NPP overseas.
