my tuner thinks ID850s may be too much injector?

My tuner says that ID850s may be too much injector at idle as the pulse width can only be backed off but so much. Considering how many people here use them...how could this be a problem? Any suggestions or words of wisdom to make my tuner feel better?

any issues so far? My tuner said he had a CTS-V in his shop once that was stuck with a rich idle due to the ID850s inability to dial back enough fuel. Why is it I have never hear one single complaint in any forum?

Did your tuner use the injector data provided by ID? Specifically did he correctly use the "Short Pulse Adder" table?

he hasn't tried my car yet...just anticipating a problem...I will inform him about the short pulse adder table

great...any special tricks with the tune to make the idle not so pig rich?

And the "Injector Offset" table. Just as important. Three tables in all need tuning for an injector swap, as long as only the injectors are changed.

Id1000s have no issues so 850s shouldn't either. Even 2000s idle fine.

in the past aka the 80s and early 90s

big power on the street ment a large complicated custom made dual fuel system, and ecu programming to match
example : take a look at the LT5 ZR1
even the 2005 Ford GT had twin injectors allowing them to dip into the parts bin of the production cars "lightning truck"

large 100lb per hour injector would not idle nice
and were not common in Hi Imp for street cars

2013 and moving forward
companies like ID and Squash are making big power fuel delivery easy to obtain for the masses.
and doing it in a way that seamlessly intergrates into the factory platform

professionally and personally I have:
installed / used / dyno tested / delivered tuned builds w/
id725 / id850/ id1000 injectors
so impressed with function I became a dealer

had a fully built turbo low compression heads n cam 427 with id850s
idle like stock @ 650RPM the first time I hit the key "first fire"
on my base calibration, + ID's injector data
their tables are dead on

Good info. Just reading these posts.... if it was me I would find a new tuner. Sounds like your current one is a little behind the times.

Just my 2 cents.

can't get a dyno tune today due to weather issues...my tuner is going to bench flash a new calibration for the ID850s. Possibly a new dyno tune next week.
