Before I installed the oil pan I removed the oil pump and installed a new IWIS timing chain. They are reasonably priced and stronger than the O.E.

ARP makes a specific bolt kit for the LS oil pan. These things look great!

Threads like this make me want to buy a beater and yank the motor out of my car. I don't care if anyone sees it or not, that motor is gonna look stellar once it's all said and done. Nice work.

Impressive work! The cam you have should really wake that motor up big time.

I have been working on some additional detail work. Cleaned up the throttle body by sanding down the casting lines. Did the same on the A/C , Alternator and Power Steering Brackets. It does not take much effort for these brackets to look a lot better. I will follow up with a Cast Silver paint.

Here is a tip I learned from some top LS Engine builders. A small hole can be drilled on the bottom side of the lifter retainers. This helps to drain oil faster under high RPM.

ARP head studs are now in. Just waiting for the heads to be completed.

Yup, I've recommended that to a few folks before but I just went with Morel link bar lifters and you eliminate the trays all together. No more oil pooling up there lol.

What is your valvetrain consisting of?

Looks very good btw.
