That majorly sucks! I remember when I was driving a 1980 Chevy Truck & there was a hailstorm here near Pensacola, Fl. My mom was driving her 05 Malibu. It got over 50 dents & cracked the rear window. My truck didn't get 1 dent in it. It was ugly & rusted, but not dents...I miss that truck.

Bridge is a tough call. If there is hail, it makes sense. However, and this is a biggie, it acts as a wind tunnel during a tornado, it's one of the worst places you can be in a tornado!

Several years ago there was news footage of people crawling up under a bridge and a tornado passed directly over. This made the guys at NOAA (in Norman Oklahoma) go nuts because it made it seem like it was smart, when in fact the opposite is true. If you are ever caught out and a tornado is going by, get in a low lying area, the mud is better than debris.

A good friend of mine who did research at the NWS facility in Norman said that they had to do PSA's to get the word out - no bridges during tornados.

So, you have to figure out - hail = hide under the bridge. tornado = no bridge. hail+tornado = run?

Especially upsetting that happened so son after getting the car

Main thing is that thank heavens you are ok

Much as having the car damaged is sickening - its replaceable

Did you not have the directions and connection plan on your camaro, then they could have told you where to go and find shelter.

If they have to repaint the whole car, you could change colors and be the first 2010 Camaro with a custom color.

depends on who is covering the cost of the repairs. If the insurance or dealer is then it will be factory color.

That storm came to Little Rock but I was able to leave my Camaro at home and take the old beater Fleetwood yesterday. People at work were giving me crap about "are you afraid to let your new car get a little wet?" and stuff like that. They weren't laughing when the storm hit and they were all hiding in the conference room. Then it was "i don't blame you one little bit".

Sorry to hear about the damage. Some time it is unavoidable.

So sad You have had a time with this car!
XM Weather has storm tracking, but maybe get a GPS unit on the dash that will show you the sat and radar feeds, then in tornado alley you will have to drive where the storms push you!
