2013 LT RS package vs 2005 crown vic police interceptor

So I'm having an argument with this guy at work, he is saying my 2013 Camaro will be left in smokes by his crown vic... It's an police interceptor, and no it is not supercharged. Would this be a smart race? or will he actually beat me? please help!!

Everyone knows that Crown Victorias have the cop chip from the factory. So sorry, bro, but you will get dusted. It was optional though, so you have to look out for them.
THey have nos on the radio button to be secretive. ask him about it. and also, he'll leave you in the dust.

dangnplus,

If he is stock, you will bust his ass.....

MT did a Police car comparison for 2007. The '05 is basically the same car. The 2007 Crown Vic Interceptor had a curb weight of almost 4,400 lbs, 250HP, 297 lb-ft TRQ, a 7.8 sec 0-60 and ran the quarter mile in 15.9sec at 88.1mph.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...n/viewall.html

I LOVE it when people take this V6 for granted.

Trust me, I use to drive a police Vic for a living before the v-8 chargers...and boy that thing is slow compared to almost any vehicle to date. It is a high output v-8, but since its time, almost any v-6 can smoke it. The only Vic that would give you a run for the money is the Vic's sister car the Mercury Marauder....and even that would probably have to be tuned a little to compete

The marauder only had 300 hp. The interceptors where nothing more special than their civilian counterparts other than bigger radiators, extra oil collers, trans coolers and heavy duty brakes and maybe some minor suspension tweaks.

Heck Ford even restricted their top speed because of driveline failures. The most any vic went was about 133 mph. This guy would have to have extreme mods to race anything much less your camaro. For starters a high dollar driveline just to keep it moving.

2010 P71 vic interceptor 0-60 is about 7.8 sec. What made them popular was how cheap and easy they were to fix. trans swaps could be done in less than 1 hour......etc.

different engine programming, heavier duty frame, aluminum body parts and best of all, stab plates in the front seatbacks!
