I just screwed up....while checking my air filter I went to put it back on and broke the mounting tab. So now I need to use most of my tax refund to buy a new air intake....I may not have enough left to get the splitter.:(

Was that the OEM airbox? That happened to me and my dealer replaced it under warranty.

Yeah but I broke it not really a warranty item.

Well, where you using it "normally" or where you abusing it? It shouldn't break just from inspecting/replacing the filter. My dealer didn't ask any questions, he looked at it and then ordered a new one. He will get paid for r&r labor by GM, so it's a win for him.

I couldn't get the clip to engage and when I pushed down really hard the mount snapped off...I think I had the lid misaligned. It was my mistake....I would rather not risk messing my good relationship with my service department by trying to put something over on them.. Besides I wasn't brought up that way.

I decided to get an exhaust with my tax refund instead of getting this right now...maybe Santa will bring me one this year.

Thanks!
I can't decide. T5 or T2, or choice #3. I'll have to see them in person this season.

So is this a design issue? Or an installation error? This is pretty concerning, if installed as designed the product falls off while driving.

What ever happened with your splitter?

We did test our mounting system and will hold up to high speeds. It will also break off under impact, which is intended. Hence why we don't use adhesives or 2 way tape.

There are quite a few hundred of our splitters on the road, no issues have been reported other than this one. Without seeing the car it is hard to judge and determined why this failed.

My best guess is either

1. The pushpins were not fully inserted.
2. Most likely the drilled holes in the fascia were to large and the pushpins were not holding properly.

The Kit also comes with 3 M8 nuts and bolts, and 10 Heavy Duty Pushpins.

If you are concerned, replacing the pushpins with bolts is an option.
