it really doesn't matter, just pick if your car is stock, street, modified, ect. what ever it is that you consider your car. Just make sure you use the club name Camaro5.com this way if someone gives you crap about where your parked I can get involved and take care of you.

This would be my first meet. 3 hour drive might just be worth it. Looking forward to it.

Hi Everone,

I created an account on here just to keep everyone in the loop for the 2013 GM Nationals. I've been talking with both Jerry Beni and Spike III - both are really into coming to the show. I'm glad to see so many supportive 5th Gen guys coming out for the show. I just thought I would give you a basic breakdown of the show for this year:

- We are celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Turbo Buick program (1978-2013), so we should have a bunch of Grand Nationals, Turbo Ts, and maybe even a few GNXs

- We have Bobby Allison lined up to come in as a special guest for Saturday. He is doing autographs and pictures

- I am making a really big push for clubs this year, as we need club support to pull off a good show. Here are a few basic guidelines for clubs:

* Club registrations under a common club name (Camaro5.com, Upstate C 5, etc) will put you in the running for a free tent. 25 cars or more = free tent to use for cooking, socializing, etc.
Be sure to agree on whatever club name you use, as we will count cars based on the club they register with.

* Clubs will be asked to park their cars in the approriate classes (this makes voting much easier), but they will have their tent placed as close to the cars as possible

* With you being 5th Gens, you will all be in the same area anyway, so there will be little seperation of your member cars

* We welcome any and every GM to the show, so don't be afraid to bring multiple cars

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to post and I will check on here frequently to keep everyone in the loop. I look very forward to meeting everyone this year at the show!

Tyler, good luck with the event, it's a tough job to organize a show that big.
My wife and I have been going to the GM National since 2001 and love it.
First with our Caprice wagon and for the last couple of years with our Camaro.
It's nice to come to a show with so many classes of GM vehicles.
I see you are going back to the participant judging.
Will it be the same as the old days where you don't judge the class you are in?
I like that idea, so groups don't get together and vote for each other and no one else has a chance.

I do have a suggestion for you; please make the location of the car classes slightly away from the tents. In years past the tents ended up right where we were supposed to park.
I also assume there will be ample room for the amount of cars pre-registered in each class. Also in years past we had seen space for 10 cars and there were 50 cars in that class.

Glad to hear you have been coming for quite some time! In regards to the judging, I did not think of restricting voting within your own class. Good idea. I agree that it can lead to some bias, so I will certainly look into initiating that. With the tents, I will try my best to situate them close to the cars, but not in anyone's way. It can be tough juggling tents and cars on the same field. With the class, I have taken the time to calculate average class attendance over the past 3 years - this way I can get a better idea of how many cars wil lattend. Of course, we could also have 30 guys show up on Saturday and have to make room -crazy! But I will be sure to provide buffer space if we seem to have a good C 5 showing. Thanks for the input!
