This was on my car at purchase. Can you identify it?

Hello all.

I purchased my 2010 2SS at a dealership at the beginning of Jan. I didn't noticed this until my first cleaning. There is what appears to be possibly 2 LED type light "bars" or some type or sensors attached to the lower front grill.

I have attached pics. there is also what appears to be a "control box" of some kind in the middle that they are both attached to as you can see from the pic taken from above through the radiator cover. It's hard to see in the pics, but the front of these have a dark red color to them. they appear to be wired to the wiring harness, but if they are lights, I have not been able to activate them in any way.

Anyone ever seen something like these?

That is an Escort 9500 Radar Detector. Is there anything inside the car? Like a little blue screen and another with buttons on it?

The little boxes at the lower front of the car are called Shifters. While the bigger box is the actual radar sensor. It can be hidden behind anything as long as metal is not blocking the view in front of it. You should have some type of sensor on or around the back of the car too.

Ah ok, thank you. No there is nothing inside the car. But there is a spot on the windshield that has adhesive in the corner. I wonder if they just took that out when traded and didn't want to bother with the sensors.

I was thinking something along the lines of lights too. But I guess SW1LE knows for sure

The adhesive in the corner is probably where the GPS antenna for the radar was. I install these Passport radars on cars all the time. They are very expensive to buy. I would look under the dash on the drivers side and see if there is any extra wires or the external mounted speaker just tucked away out of sight.

Yeah this appears to be it. Holy crap that's a $1700 radar/laser/red light camera setup LOL.

Although apparently all that's left is the sensor and shifters.

I'll definitely dig a little deeper to see what i can find, now that I know what I'm looking for.

Thanks so much Sumwhite, its much appreciated as I was at a loss trying to figure it out! I'll post whatever else I find.
