Thank goodness for this site and forum.
I have a 2010 V6 and I'm also having problems with the CEL and mis-fires.
It started last year at approx. 35000 miles. Going down Rt 95 at 60+ miles an hour the engine lost power and was hesitating. Pull over turn the engine off then restart and everything is fine.
Okay, it's a computer, maybe just a glitch I thought.
Then it happens again maybe 2 months later with the wife driving down the PA Turnpike.
I take it to my local mechanic and he tells me the codes say a misfire, bad coil pack on the #1 cylinder. Off to the dealer we go, it now has 37,865 miles. The dealer reprograms the ECM, gives it a road test and sends me on my way.
Last Thursday, now with 41,000 miles it happens again. At least we were on a local road and not a highway. Back to the dealer. He calls and says the codes are saying it the # 2 cylinder this time.
He's keeping it over the weekend and giving it the clean out/ flush as previously discussed here.

My question now is should I get a Claim Number process started with GM? It looks like I might be another "lucky" CEL/misfire participant.
Brandon?

BTW, I have also experienced cold weather starts, but not on a regular basis. Just every once in a while.
My wife and I love driving this car, hell after 3 years I'm still driving it like I stole it. It would be a shame to now realize I made a bad decision in buying it because it's not going to last. The last Camaro I bought lasted me almost 15 years, I was hoping this one would at least give me half of that.

Gm said the misfire was due to the oil from the cold air filter had gummed up the mass airflow sensor and threw 8 code for miss fire running to rich/lean and that's what caused the misfire so I've read some of your posts could be the same issues for you guys

Car never did get fixed. Dealership refused to service car and the intake manifold was inspected and there is no issues. I also had the maf sensor cleaned.

Maybe this combination I have just wont work. Would installing hiflow csts fix anything?

I'm also still convinced its an air to fuel ratio thing that a tune could easily fix.

Happened again today on the highway in yraffic, worst place for it to happen. Car went into limp mode and felt like it was shaking to pieces.

This was from hitting the gas pedal to pass a car doing 30 under speed limit. When I got to work I noticed I now have a permanent cel. When I turned the car off then on again in parkinglot, limp mode was gone but cel is still on??????

This is such a nasty bug, not sure what to do anymore. Im gonna get on trifecta and code read the cel.

The check engine light is also known as malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). It shows when having a glitch in the electronic control module of vehicles. Commonly, the check engine light is positioned within the instrument console. In some older vehicles, the check engine light was referred to as "engine" or "trouble", which demonstrated small problems including overheating or flat oil pressure inside the motor.

Update. The service shop called and said that GM engineers say to replace the computer. I hope they don't have to take my car apart to do that. Does anyone know?

Cel turned out to be cylinder misfires again. P0301 p0304 were some of the codes if I can recall. This issue plauges my cwr now and im stumped on what to do next. I will try replacing the cai dry air filter, just maybe thats the issue??? Its a dry filtwr and ive cleaned it and it looks new but maybe its time for a new filter?

I had the same issues with mine, constant misfire codes. I would always get them with cold starts.

Having the misfires on all cylinders only during cold start. Once in normal run no misfires at all.
Replaced MAF and plugs and check voltages on temp sensor and o2 sensors.

I just got one this morning. I am going to try and get it into the dealer today. I started the car up noticed it was shaking a bit. Saw the CEL come on. Shut it off, started it up again, and then called onstar that is when she did the diagnostic and told me it was a cylinder misfire.

I did a few weeks ago drive the car down to Florida and back, and my commute is 4 miles. I was just wondering if perhaps I have some summer gas in the car that caused the problem. Either way, I'm close to needing an oil change so I'll have that done at the dealer while getting the car looked at.

I have been dealing with flashing CEL 3 days after I purchased my 2013 1LT. I bought the car Oct. 23rd. The engineers have been in the process of writing a program to flash the ECM, and they finally finished writing the program and they flashed it to my car on Monday. I haven't picked up the car yet because the dealer is still working on it to get a rattle fixed. So if you are having issues with flashing CEL, and you car is having random misfires but the car is driving fine and not actually misfiring, there is a program out there to flash the ECM. Hope this helps. When I get the car back I will update with more info around the program that they flashed.

Mine did this too when it got cold. Moisture in the gas was the culprit. Ran a couple tanks of B12 Chemtool through it and no issues since.

Sincere apologies about this and I understand any frustration this causes. You're welcome to send us a message for assistance with setting up an appointment for an official GM diagnosis. At that point, I'll reach out to the dealer's customer care specialist who is the point of contact for resolving customer/vehicle issues at the dealer level.

hello, everyone i just got back from the dealership with my 2011 camaro 3.6 the check engine light came on and i took it to the dealer and it came up with low voltage i left the radar detector on for two days. nothing was said about a misfire im praying i dont have a issue . does the low voltage sound like it would make the check engine light to come on?

GM just released a re-flash for the 2013 v6. I was having a flashing check engine light. It took over 2 months for the engineers to write the program. The service shop flashed the program to my car last week and they have had it for a week testing it out.
