Best Way to Buy 1LS?

Seriously considering picking up a new 1LS as a daily driver. Looking for advice on how to get the best deal. I do have a local dealer that I prefer but for the right price am willing to travel a reasonable distance. I have found some leftover 12's but list price isn't enough different to matter, will they deal much more on the 12's than the 13's?

I use autotrader.com, they have a search engine that narrows it down and does alot of the leg work for you.

I can locate a car, I am talking about negotiating a price. On a bare bones no options 1LS how far below msrp will I be able to get the price to?

Ditto. You should be able to get a good close out special on the 12'ssince 13's are out. On a bare bones LS I would even offer in the $20k range. I know you said new but the idea of autotrader.com and looking for a 2012 with less then 10k or 15k miles on it are usually a good deal since the person that drove it off the lot took the hit on depreciation. Not sure what they go for used but you would still have the remaining 36k bumper to bumper on it. Just a thought.

Dean.

Are you sure about that, according to GM website they are offering $500 cash back on '13 camaro excluding ZL1 but I didn't see anything about 12's.

I don't wan't to go the used route because of gm cash and private offer.

I would buy new. I've spent a considerable amount of time checking on different sites for Camaros and for the used LS they are at around 18k-22k. New, as stated above 21,894+/- a few hundred dollars.

As for tips on negotiation (which is what I believe you asked).
They aren't in order, they are just what I remember off the top of my head.

-Get a loan from another place other than the dealer, unless they have that 0% 72 months (if you are not paying cash).
-Don't mention how much you want to pay a month.
-Don't be afraid to walk out
-Get quotes online, like on cars.com where they contact many different dealers based on what car you want (that way dealers know you're shopping around)

I don't know it it applies, maybe the LS qualifies for a $1,000 private offer.
Since its the LS, I really don't think, or it'll be really hard, to negotiate anywhere below ~$21,000. Good luck though

The base model LS is quite a deal. The only option I would get is the spare tire, wishing I could have one for the SS (although there is a thread on that very subject).

Think about it: Great looking car, with 323HP out of a V6 for under $25k for a brand new 2013, and much less for a 2012 that is still titled new.

Have been thinking about the same thing.

Best of luck.

We test drove one today and really liked it, first time for us in a v6 camaro.
We test drove a sonic ltz turbo yesterday and at first thought it was better than we expected but it was as expensive as the LS camaro and we are not much on small cars or 4 bangers!

As far as I know you are correct. I have the 2012 and it is the LFX engine.

You still may want to consider autotrader.com not for used but for new. Most dealers list there new vehicles on there also. That is how I found my brand new one.

PS as much as I would love to own an SS with the V8 I just couldn't afford the extra bucks. I bought the V6 instead and I am totally impressed with the power that little V6 puts out. I added the MRT V2.0 exhaust and love it even more. Can't go wrong using it for a DD, I do, bad thing is I hate to see the salt on it but it is only a car and I love driving it. Just have to wash it more. I am even impressed with how well it handles in the snow, actually better than pretty much all of the other vehicles I have owned including 2 pickups but they were only 2WD.
