You don't actually get different rims with the RS package, they are just painted. So no, they don't give you extra off.

you'll basically be paying for the HID/halos, and painted roof mouldings with the RS on a 1LE. which isn't a bad price if you want the OEM RS lights, since adding them afterwards can run you around $800 per light if you buy new, or I think around $600 for a set of refurbs from Ofer here.
But, to your question, it does sort of credit you for the rims, since we don't pay as much for the RS package as someone buying an LT (where the RS would upgrade from 19" to 20") would pay.

And to clarify, you don't get the same wheels as the RS package. You get better wheels (same exact ones as the ZL1 front wheels)

Wait

I though you get the actual same wheels all around (20x10 front and
20x11 rear); but the same tires as the fronts (285's) on the zl1 all around
on the 1LE.

You are correct. The tires are ZL1 fronts all the way around. The wheels are same as ZL1

Welcome to camaro5. The chevy website is still broken. Adding the RS package to a 1LE equipped SS does not change the SSX wheels that are included with the 1LE package.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying to decide to pull the trigger or not for a 1ss 1le. I'm just doing my homework

Get the RS. Unless its a dedicated track car you will end up retrofitting for the look. This can be almost as expensive and you modding vs getting it the right way from the factory.

I was really on the fence about getting the RS on mine....I ended up adding it last minute and I'm very glad I did. It's hard to justify the money at first but once it's done you won't regret it.

I don't think the RS package is worth it if you are getting the 1LE. $1350 for headlights? You can get aftermarket headlights with halos for under $400.

The aftermarket solutions are nice but not the same and depending on the color, roof ditch moulding and colored shark fin are well worth it. When buying an SS all RS does to the wheels is change color. So by your logic, RS is always a waste.

Bottom line, most people without RS wish they had it and no one regrets having it. You do the math.

i don't regret not getting it, but that's because i wanted my black moulding and fin

eventually i'll stop being lazy and put my retrofit together, and fwiw, i got everything i need for the retrofit for less than the price of one factory RS light. not saying RS is a bad decision, just didn't suit me.

I've considered going with non RS just to have the classic style headlights. They don't put out as much light as the HIDs but I think they look awesome. Can't go wrong either way.
