Supporting Mods for Cam Package?

I am going to do a Cam Package with the LS3 Conversion in the next few months by a very reputable Tuner. I am just wondering what other supporting mods are you people doing with cams doing?

Currently my mods are: LTs, HF Cats, 2.5" CB, CAI intake, YANK SS3200, custom tuned (365rwhp)

I have a RX catch can on the way and will be ordering a VMAX ported TB...

So...what else should I do? goal for the car is around 440-450 rwhp

LS3/DOD conversion kit if you're planning on dropping the DOD.

For sure the TC will help the most and you can also consider some shorter gears as well. Esp with that Yank.

Everything else sounds good. Try to work as close as you can to the Cam grind and Tuner as you can.

That will make all the difference!

Good luck and let us know if you need anything!

1. C5r timing chain
2. Replacing the Ls3 chain tensioner to Ls2 dog bone dampner.
3. Melling oil pump (10296)
4. Chromoly pushrods
5. Brian Tooley racing platinum valve springs "0" failure rate.
6. ARP cam retainer bolts (opt)
7. ARP cam sprocket bolts (opt)
8. ARP head bolts (only because you can reuse them many many times)
9. For L99's it's also a good idea to get your heads cncd and ported
10. Swapping out your L99 intake valves to hollow Ls3 valves
11. Rocker arm trunion upgrade.
To name a few off the top of my head.

I am with the above. Maybe add drag radials and trailing arms to put the power down. Other than that I can't think of anything. The L99 is very forgiving on the rear end and the trans when tuned properly. Ohh yeah make sure you have a tranny cooler. If you had a M6 car I would say throw the suspension catalog at it as well as a 9inch rear end and strong clutch. LOL

THISSSSSSSSSSSSS

Remember OP, TSP can port those heads for 800$ or have advanced inductions do it for a little more. You might aswell since you are alrady there if its within the budget, and you'll exceed your goal of 450+. AI also does badass valve jobs.

You can always have your intake ported for rather cheap, around 350$, or buy the fast 102 with the vmax ring so u can retain your TB.

pay the extra 20$ and get the cam custom spec'd from a rep., ive always been bias towards vengeance racing, martin from tick perf, pat g, geoff, to name a few.

You can opt for a thinner gasket to bump compression. People like to use the ls9 gaskets.

160 thermostat ~25$ from TSP

25% underdrive pulley, they are $189 @ calspeedperformance and you can buy the belts from TSP. its about 25$ ~ for the arp crank bolt and about 5$~ for the gm TTY bolt.

Hope that helps

That's cool! Do it once and do it right, or end up paying twice is what I always say.

Have you been reading all the threads on VVT Cams? I was in your shoes looking around for everything i wanted and decided instead of LS3 conversion, I went with TSPs VVT cam kit. with doing the AFM/DOD delete.
