ZL1 Exhaust issues!!!

i have 2013 ZL1,which is the most awesome car i ever owned,the other day i notice some brillo pad looking stuff,or steel wool coming out one of the exhaust pipes,long strongs of it!!! anyone knows what this is??? any help would be appreciated!!! thanks

Check out the pics & info on this Vette forum about NPP exhaust " The center compartment is filled with the [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]fiberglass[/COLOR][/COLOR] that is initially in a bag, but apparently the bag disintegrates over time" ...probably that's what you're seeing.

Mine had a few strings of steel wool the other day. I pulled them out and have not seen any more. Some guys here freaked out, rushed to the dealer to yell about it, and had their exhaust replaced. I saw very little and haven't seen any more.

some of us had more than a few strands, thats why. mine looked like father time had moved into my exhaust system and had his beard dragging on the road.

Seriously this seems to happen to all of them. I just pulled mine out and it didn't recur. Some have had their exhaust replaced just to have it happen again. Personally I'm glad mine has blown out already and don't have to worry about it anymore.

I had the same problem when i went to off road pipe and headers, now im running green cats and no fibers are coming out again
