Who has the magnaflow resonated x w/ LT's and muffler delete? (or bullets)

About to pull the trigger on a custom 2.5" exhaust setup at a local exhaust shop; I'm Wanting a proper x merge mandrel bent setup, and shed some weight.

My muffler/resonator options are as follows:
Magnaflow resonated x and removing the saddle bags in the rear

or

fabricate a x pipe and weld in two magnaflow bullet mufflers w/ saddle bag delete

If anyone has either of these setups, please post a exhaust video. I can only find this setup with stock exhaust manifolds -_-

About convinced on the resonated x.

I have the magnaflow resonated x pipe. Tsp headers no cats and muffler delete. Without the magna flow it was way to loud. Put the magna flow on it it and it quieted it down a lot. Almost to much. Now I'm debating removing the factor resonator for more sound.

We just installed this setup the other day, except with KOOKS headers and HFC's. I was surprised how quiet it was at idle. Nice tone and sounded like a beast once you got on it! The resonated X pipe really helps with the sound.

Best regards,

Tyler

You guys are a little hard to follow, you mean a setup like this?

I'm curious how loud a system like this is with longtubes and high flow cats. Like is it hard to talk over the exhaust note when at idle? I'm sure at WOT is super loud.

That's the set up I have , it has kooks long tubes with a cat delete. When I took the cats off it was extremely loud, matter of fact too loud. I added 2 bullets right where the cats were. That made it tolerable. There is no problem talking over the idle. I think it sounds great but everyone knows when it's coming, from what I hear about a half mile away. It is loud enough that when I see a cop I slip it into neutral every time. It is a camaro ss and camaro ss are bad ass cars . I think it sounds the way it's supposed to. People constantly compliment the sound of the exhaust.

No it was perfect. Cats don't like boost. From what I understand even high flow cats come apart under boost, that's why I did it.

True that, boost and cats don't mix too well.

Ive got Kooks 1 7/8 headers hiflow cats no rez&muffler and I like the sound untill ur up in the rpms then its to loud outside the car.. just picked up a magnaflow rez xpipe and going to see what that sounds like. Hopeing it quiets it down alittle but not to much. I like the start up sound and idle it has right now

So I ordered a ecs kit, I should look into taking the hiflow's off then?

Exhaust answer

I think I have pretty much the setup you are asking about. I have OBX LT's, modified factory cat, Magnaflow X-pipe, stock resonators and mid pipe, muffler delete, and Maganflow tips. Check out my build thread for pics and video's, if interested.

This set up is american racing headers with highflow cats, x-pipe, and magnaflow competition axel back exhaust. 3 inch full exhaust with 5 inch tips (no resonators)

I'm listening to my shop cutting my stock pipes from the cats back off right now. They are running new pipe with magnaflow. I will let you know what I think of it in a few hours.

Sounds good in that 2nd vid Amizz.

Anyone know the weight diff between the Magnaflow catbacks that don't have rear mufflers vs the stock after-cat exhaust?

i didnt weigh them

however the magnaflow is roughly 21 lbs.

the saddle backs are about 20-30 lbs each roughly..
and the removing of the middle resonator is pretty heavy too.

best weight reduction to perform on this car, they say its almost 100 lbs just by straight piping it.
