We sent out a preproduction hood to them last week , we just set up for them to be one of our biggest distributers on the west coast. i havent heard from carlos since monday , i hope they can pull out of this one they were great guys.

Chris, Thank you for the informative exchange. I'm a big believer in the concept of "there are 3 sides to every story". I like hearing your side and I can feel that you "want" to work with them. I think they'll come around, they need good tuners for the program. They were on pins & needles when they launched the SC. It was/is new territory for them, a very large investment and business overall in the industry sucks. They know the power the internet & forums have. This was even a new way of distributing for them. (long over due, IMO). No excuse, just their mindset. BTW, Do you have a sales rep that calls on you? He should be helping to bring everyone back together, again IMO. I look forward t meeting you at SEMA. For everyone, Regards, Techco, I'm really sad to see them go. But the company was set up as a manufacturer, not a direct retail business (that was to be SMS"s job). When that blew up,..well starting a company based on payback is rarely a good foundation for success. I feel especially for the employees. They were pawns the the SMS/Techco fiasco and now they are screwed again (no pun intended). I hope they are able to stay in the industry. Our industry in undergoing it's worse year in it's history (like most other industries) many companies are teetering on the edge. Cash flow is a big factor. I hate to see another one go. You guys are all a great breath of fresh air for the industry. You want to modify and enjoy your cars. I guarantee you will see tons of products for your cars at SEMA. I know you are anxious but the economy hasn't been good to R&D budgets. Luckily the LS engines series has been around for 10 years and means just adapting to the new features like AFM & VVT. I believe that parts for the V6 will come. But it is a very technologically sophisticated engine and a simple "bolt-on" isn't likely. I will take a lot of R&D. More than some companies can afford right now. I believe the Camaro is the tipping point from niche motor to mainstream. R&D is a fixed cost, (example, from concept to first casting a manifold costs about $25,000) so you have to look at how much it will cost, how many can you sell, and can you sell it for a price that justifies the price. I.E. a $2000.00 exhaust for 10-15 HP. That was something the CTS guys saw on the early 3.6's. As you guys have propably guesed by now the OE's are VERY protective of their software as intelectual property and don't share code with anyone, without a very restrictive non-discloure, non-compete. I could count them on one hand or less. So hang in there good things will come.
