HP Tuners suite question

If you unlock "your car" in the software package, does that year make model engine setup become unlocked or just your vin? I am talking about when you spend the "credits" to tune the vehicle from the software suite.

It takes 2 GM credits to read and save the calibration for each VIN. If you buy enough credits (12) of a model and year (2010 Camaro), additional VINs are free.

The software mates the credits used to the electronic serial number of the ECU, not the VIN.

Ya what he said. I have 204 credits on my interface unlocking all 1997 and above Corvettes, 1998 and above Camaros, 2004-06 GTOs, CTSs.

That's how Tampa Tuning keeps our cost down paying for the credits up front so you dont have to.

It mates a little more than just that. You won't be able to flash a different base file into a PCM without licensing both the file and the PCM seperately.

I understand that, but he was looking for the basics I believe. Mismatched OS's & VIN's cause another headache as well. Ran into that a few times from people that like to lock a non lockable ECU.
