Looking at a 12 Camaro SS/RS need advice

So here is the story,I had every intention of getting a 2013 SS1LE and the dealer I went to has one coming in,now I started looking around on the dealer website and found they had a couple of 12's left and with 0% for 72mos and a private offer and gm earnings it makes it a very tempting deal, the problem is they are not really discounting the car much and tell me that 1000 dollars will be added back in if taking the 0% and they also want to charge a 600$ dealer fee which I'm being told is mandatory,I know that 12 is costing the dealer money just sitting there and the other dealers don't have any on their lots. The 1LE doesn't come in time to use the private offer and obviously no 0% financing, the msrp on the 12 is 39,xxx and they're pricing it at 38,xxx from what I've seen here I should be able to do better on the price than that or am I asking for to much and does that seem right to add the 1000$ back in if taking the 0%

$39k for a 2012 2SS.

That is bonkers.

Brand new 13s 2SS are 34-36K around me and some include NPP.

I wouldn't lowball them because they might not take you seriously. I'd offer them something in the neighborhood of 36.5 k and stress that the 14's are coming out soon, which should lower their value some. If you can get it at that price, the dealership fee is basically a non-issue. If they accept your offer and you still don't feel comfortable about the dealership fee, just let them know that you'll walk if they include the fee. Hope it works out for you.
