Top Gear Online Review - Camaro SS vs Challenger vs .... GT500... ??

http://www.topgear.com/us/features/more/muscle-run

I saw this review mentioned as being in Top Gear magazine - but I see it is now on their website
Bizarre review

Net - the review reads as saying that Camaro is best all round buy but loses to GT500 on basis of power (I believe the word is ... duh!) and loses to the Challenger on looks...

Review was not done by one of the 3 regular presenters but by one of their magazine writers

Thanks for the post, but jesus.... not again. I guess we should be happy that everyone insists on comparing the GT500 and not the GT.

I'm shocked at the results

I'd take that GT500 over any of the others. I love that blue and white

So he liked it, but he wasn't in like with it. But it was still the best of the three? He'll grow into it..

That was one of the most confusing comparison articles I've ever read...did it have a 'winner'? Or even a point?

Michael Harvey reviewed this one and not the main Top Gear three we all know.. When it appears on the show, it will get a much better review and post a good time around the track. Until then, they can write what they want about the Camaro vs a GT500 and point out that the GT500 is faster..No Duh.. I think this writer is trying to be funny and sarcastic like Jeremy Clarkson is but fails miserably. Hamonds will give it a good/great review (since he loves the Challenger) and Clarkson will call it rubbish and then say it is brilliant all in the same sentence..

Duh. If someone offered me a free GT500 or a free SS, I would take the GT500 also. Most people would. It is a Shelby GT500! Actually, it wasn't as much of a bashing as I figured the top gear guys would give the Camaro. They actually said, in a sort of back-handed way, that the Camaro was the best overall car, but they just didn't like it as much for personal preference reasons.

Its an area specific review because the Camaro costs as much as the AMG due to import taxes and such. They were just showing a better car you can get for the same money, and it IS a better car.

yeah but they still liked it at the end of the day and would buy one, its an american car though sooo thats quite the amazing review considering how much they hate american cars lol.

Watched the new Top Gear (US version) and they compared the Challenger SRT8, Camaro SS (auto), and a Mustang GT. That was a decent show, but they said the Camaro was a barbie car (I believe they had a white with orange stripes). I just don't know why they'd go with a stick in the other cars, and go with the less powerful Camaro....

European Camaro Coupe costs 38990 Euros
European Camaro Conv costs 43990 Euros
Mercedes E63 AMG costs 72000 Pounds which is 86460.4800 Euros

How are they the same cost?

I'm not trying to start an argument over this, it's just plain stupid to compare them and I've been a huge fan of this show (UK not US) but I am glad they said they did like it in the end.

Erhm... the AMG costs twice as much as a Camaro, even after import taxes...

They also disqualified the Camaro on one stage when one of the announcers tried to tap some sort of air dam on the front of the car (nice idea but poor execution of aerodynamics). Had the Camaro been able to go on the track and do its laps I believe that the results would have shown the Camaro to be much more competitive. That said, I guess having a ZL1 vs a Boss GT Mustang would be in good taste!

I watched that too, and I wonder who sponsored the show....*cough* Ford *cough*. The US version of Top Gear sucks. They will never be able to do what the UK version does since the BBC is owned by the government over there and they don't depend on advertising money to keep the show running. They didn't say a single bad thing about any of the cars they tested, they all broke even, and it wasn't even an entertaining show for the most part. I gave it a chance for two seasons, and I'm done with it. The only US car show to watch is The Car Show with Adam Carolla. That is awesome programming and it's not full of no personality hosts. I hope that show comes back soon.

I wanted to see the SRT8 392 race the 5.0..... But with the orangutan Rutledge behind the wheel of the 6-speed 392 I would expect Adam to win since his torque is more manageable and it's easier to hook.

Can someone re post the link.
