Cam install question

What all gaskets/seals so I need to replace is there any that are reusable on a cam install?

Front cover gasket, water pump gaskets, red RTV for the corners, front main seal, and crank bolt. TSP sells a kit with everything you need.

If youre going with a 3 bolt cam you also need bolts and retainer valve cover gaskets are reusable but for the price i would change them also if youre doing lifters head gaskeys and bolts

I had 3,500 on mine, 500 after cam install when it snapped. Read my timing chain link in my signature.

If your going in, upgrade. Do it once and right or pay twice.

These are the must get parts when doing a cam swap are
1) melling 10296 oil pump
2) C5r timing chain
3) ARP cam bolts (if your using a 3 bolt cam), don't forget a lil loctite on those and the retainer plate bolts.
You don't need valve cover gaskets though.

Definately. I had to do mine later on when when one of the trunions broke down. Found two more close failing while I was doing the upgrade. The last couple needle bearings should be stuck to the oil drain plug now.

I don't see it mentioned but you will also need springs. And since a cam is about open the valves to get air and fuel flow, a cold air box will be needed so it can breath. And headers if you don't have them. Then a good tune.
