help!!! very dissapointed #, mainline dyno

I am very disapointed atm... Got my car tuned and read 421rwhp and 368 tq. It wad on a Mainline Dyno. Before cam(NIGHT FURY CAM) 381RWHP AND 334 TQ.

SO QUESTION IS anyone familar with the mainline Dyno? Does it read that much lower?

I had the intake, headers and hi flow cats before the cam

Everyone always says every dyno is different so beware comparing different cars on different dynos but man alive those numbers read way low for the mods you've listed. I'm guessing you have a L99 auto tranny car which reads lower than the LS3 manual tranny cars (more parasitic losses through the auto tranny). But even with that said I'd be upset with those results.

Most everyone's dyno stats on this forum are from a Dynojet or Mustang dyno - never hear of a Mainline dyno. I'd suggest you find another dyno (Dynojet or Mustang) and try again.

Apprently mineline dynos aren't too popular here. Mainly for marketing reasons and reading low #s but is very common in Austraila. But still not sure if my tune is crap or if its the dyno.

mainline dynos are made in australia and are along the same lines as the dyno dynamics dynos, you will see anywhere upto a 16% difference when comparing to a mustang or a dynojet unit (obviously thee mainline and the dynodynamics units are lower reading)

You could always ship your car to Ted with JRE so you don't have to make the long trip.

well if that is correct then 16% is 488 not too shabby for an LS3. Did you have Lethal's tune? and all the supporting mods they recommend for the NF cam?

There has to be something wrong with the correction data to have that much of an Error in the readings.

I Would love to put this car on my Superflow.

Ted.

Lethal did.not tune.. someone local. Not listing him cause I do not know the if its the tune. But I have heard nothing but good about him. Seems the valve train noise is getting louder or I'm just going crazy and being parinoid. Gunna have to take the valve covers off make sure no bolts backed out even those they did torq it down to spec. 0 lash, 1/2 to 1 fill turn at 22ft lb tq.

I'm guessing you've been to the cam swap rodeo before and believe the valve train noise to be more than the norm. If not the new valve train is going to be noticeably louder than stock - nature of the beast.

If both dyno runs were done on the same dyno, you gained 40RWHP and 34RWTQ. I just look at a dyno as a tool, other people look at it for max numbers. Best thing to do is take it to a track if you are into drag racing and see what your MPH is at the end of the 1/4. If you still have a low MPH then time to look at other things....sucks being winter and having to wait for the tracks to open

i dont want to take it to the track, run it hard, then something breaks... not taking that chance....at least if i am at a shop with a dyno.. something goes wrong i can get it fixed right there as appose to having it towed and what not. besides the infamous "sewing machine" effect.... seems like theres a tapping noise thats getting slightly louder... maybe one of the rocker arms came loose?. rocker hitting the valve cover?..

Perhaps even smaller than Arizona counties.

Good luck with your car.

Maybe you could data log it and send the results to several reputable tuners on this forum who could give you some idea of how your tune looks on paper anyway. Could be cheaper option if you suspect car is actually running ok but not sure becasue of dyno numbers.

Something to think about anyway .

Just run it on another dyno if your looking for better dyno numbers. I've never heard of that dyno brand before.
