How did he even confuse those two? lol Anyway, the FAST intakes show some improvement. From what I've seen, there aren't many intake or throttle body choices for us out there that really make it needed at the bolt on level.

V-Max claims a 14RWHP gain for their ported intake manifold...I forgot what the RWTQ numbers are.

DAFUQ?

Headers would replace the exhaust manifolds.

id port the stock intake, and be done with it. Fast is about ~849, plus the tb and air box stuff. or u can get the vring and use ur existing tb.

FAST is so nice. And it will show gains...but for the price it's kinda ridiculous. I mean I could see if your running twin turbos or something. Then sure. But for a bolt on or cammed car I couldn't see the price per hp worth it. That's not to say that I don't want one though lol.

Nobody needs a FAST until you're pushing 600 or better. I'd challenge that even that is a waste of money at that point.

Maybe at the 640-650 range you'll see a worthy improvement.

But there are a slew of things that one could buy rather than a $750 IM that would offer better benefits to the car before I'd reccomend one.

From what I've experienced so far. GL!

I totally agree with Ivan. Until you put a big cam, higher flowing heads and more cubes the Fast could actually hurt you. Saw a test of a VVT-1 cam with Mast heads loose an average of like 8RWHP and torque throughout the rev range only to gain 4rwhp at peak. That would not be ideal for a street car and certainly not for 1k dollars. I dont believe most of the claims of the ported stock intake either. Those have shown a loss in power as well in independent testing. This is not the old LS1 intake where you would see huge gains from a Fast. The LS3 intake is probably the best production intake to come out of the factory to date and is really hard to improve on.

You would see gains from a FAST, but price per HP, that would be tough to justify on a stock or bolt ons set up.

You'd be better off porting your LS3 manifold and throttle body for now.

Yes, both are a LS3 intake. I think even the G8 GT 6.0 has a LS3 intake.

well put. i have also seen problems with leaks on the ported intakes..and the bigger fast one has issues with air "sticking" at the rear
