Neu's '10 S/C Admiral Blue Build

Hello, My name is Nate and this is my slow going build of Jasmine, my 2010 2SS/RS IBM. Nothing outrageous will happen here, don't really have the money to go bonkers on this. But it will still be fun and plus its getting to the point I need help keeping track of every thing Iv done and I figured many of you would like to see it.

Picking Jasmine up from the Dealership

Bought the car October 31st 2011, It took a lot of talking to the wife so she'd let me get a Camaro. Truthfully I was looking at buying a V6 as the V8's were a bit out of my price range. However I found a 2010 2SS/RS M6 sitting in a Ford used car lot, test drove it and I was in love. This is the part where I said to myself that I won't really do anything to it. Well, I was wrong and now Im to the point I keep telling myself "just one more mod and Ill leave it alone". But here is everything that has happened, about to happen and will happen in the near future.

Ill try to keep this as updated as possible and add pictures of the mods and perhaps some installation pictures. Specifically when I do my cam/UD Pulley install. Also I will be posting up track times from last year and once the track opens up Ill also post my progress.

Dyno sheet after tuning 440RWHP/437 RWTQ

Dyno was on the happy side I think, but either way my tuner did a great job. It was like night and day after the tune. Seen a big improvement on the 1/4 mile as well. Ran a PB of 12.71 @ 113 w/ a shotty 2.107 60'. Trapped between 113-115 all weekend long.

First meet and greet with some of the forums KC Camaro drivers.

Clinton Lake, KS. As I was late for my farewell get together with the guys from KC. I still made it in time for food though.

I had surgery and had to park my car for about a week and when I was cleaning my car after recovering I discovered this mess. They chewed on the wires for my MAF sensor, but luckily didn't destroy them. Wrapped them up with electrical tape and called it good. Never found the damn things, but I set about 6 traps in the garage alone.

Thanks, hopefully Ill get to it soon. Probably go tomorrow and install the trailing arms and toe rods. Either way it'll get done before the track opens up.

Can't wait to get my cam ordered and see how it performs.

Did you have to buy separate O2 sensor extensions for the pacesetter header install? From your one picture it looks like you have exactly what I just bought. Sorry about the rodents, at least there was no permeant damage.

Or could you post more pictures of the install if you have them?

Ok, I do have a few questions then. Where did you finally get the extensions from? Did the black paint burn completely of after running them or did you get the coated ones? And how is the heat in the engine bay from running the headers? I'm thinking about wrapping the headers but I want to run them first to heat them up. I like the numbers you were getting! Any tips or advice for the install?

Bought the extensions from TSP

Yes the black paint burns off, I didn't coat them or anything. Figured if they rust ill actually buy a good set as I got these for dirt cheap anyways.

The heat isn't too bad, not much of a difference that I could tell. I could be wrong though, I didn't really pay too much attention before the headers.

Some general tips, make sure you don't break the O2 sensors when you take them off the manifolds. Mine came right out but Iv read on here of people breaking them. Buy a GM manifold gasket, the one that comes with it is junk. I have heard of people reusing theirs but I didn't go that route. If you have access to a lift it would make it a lot easier. If not atleast tall jackstands, the more room the easier it will be. And this sounds obvious but don't drive your car before the install if you can help it. Installed some for another member and he drove to my house. Burnt myself a few times doing his, those exhaust ports are hot and stay hot for a while lol.

Thanks for the reply. So I don't think I will ever be so lucky to get LTHs approved by my wife again so I have to Kane the best of these. I plan on installing them and running them till the paint burns off so I can take them off again and wrap them with the header wrap kits. This is supposed to put some life into them. So if I can I will reuse the gasket and then replace it with the new one. I will be sure to put some pics up when I'm done. I'm going from shorties to Long tubes so I can't wait to hear the difference with the diverters I have! Do you happen to have a link for TSP? Thanks again!

Sorry forgot I ended up buying them off of classifieds on here from another member. But if you google Texas speed and performance and search 2010 Camaro O2 sensor extensions you will find it.

I plan on calling lethal racing tomorrow to get everything ordered. I'm going with the night fury cam with titanium retainers, LSx gaskets, C5R timing chain, melling high volume oil pump, dual springs, rods and trunion upgrade.

Edit: also installed my PFADT Trailing arms and toe rods today. Ill post up some pictures of the work tonight or tomorrow.

One down, 3 or 4 more mods to go. Will probably be calling up Lethal Racing to order my Night Fury cam and then Ill call a few shops and talk to them about pricing and their experience with tuning these LS3's. So far I know im going to be checking out IPS Motorsports, Back Street Performance and Mike Norris. See how I feel with those three and go from there, if anyone has any suggestions in the Ohio area feel free to post.

The parts

Gotta love this damn rain, whole drive way is filled with mud puddles.

And its done, hardest part was getting the old bushing out. Torched it and then used a punch and hammer to hammer it out.

Cam and everything is now ordered from Lethal Racing, said they would try to get it out today so now my impatient wait starts.

Time to start calling some shops for a tuner

Well got the package from Lethal Racing today, but due to a small mix up I got everything but the cam. Cam is a day behind so it should be here tomorrow morning. Waking up at 7am and then heading to my dads to start tearing it down. Hopefully we time it right and the cam gets here right after we get it all tore down haha. Ill try to take a lot of pictures and post them on here.
