since we both do track days and autocrosses, we'll get a chance to line them up.

I'm trying to get him to sign in here ( since I found the site FOR him) but he's a big girl. lol

Nice car Mr. Stark! Will be an interesting race on either track. Hope he gets some slicks for the drag race...

Last time the V10 was on the ring (Nurburgring) was in 2009 and the ZL1 was in 2012. Audi V10 is number 50, ZL1 is number 43 time wise. ZL1: 7.41.27 and Audi V10 clocked in at 7.44 dead. Your 2012 has had a little more power added since the 2009. Could all go down to driving skill. They are very similar when all is factored in, but I just love the V10. Hope the "Pro Slacker" takes on the challenge. Can't wait to hear all about the details and the winner of course. Good luck.

Now this thread has some serious potential. Father son rivalry at its best haha.

Doesn't matter who wins, have fun and post up vids/pics for all of us on here. Not everyone gets the chance to watch a ZL1 line up with an R8 V10

On the 1/4 mile track give the ZL1 some drag radials with equal driver skill and it could be very interesting otherwise that would be a no contest. Road course is going to depend heavily on the driver experience. Get video, I think it would be cool either way.

the R8 0-60 times are faster and 1/4 mile times are faster. add in that the Camaro weighs over 1000 pounds more and wont pull as many Gs on the skidpad.

all that said, we still have tons of fun giving each other the business. As Speedbump has pointed out, My experience far exceeds his. (at least in the world of going fast around a corner) I will say that I know the ZL1 can be amazingly fast. but with my limited experience behind the wheel of his car, no way would I attempt to drive it the way I drive my own car. seems like a great way to spend a day facing the wrong dirrection on the track for me.

The R8 is quicker than the ZL1 with the stock tires. Slicks and it still might be interesting even using the launch control.

The Camaro doesn't weigh 1000+ pounds more though. It's about 4,100 vs 3,600 for your R8, which is still a huge difference obviously.

Looking forward to some videos clips!!

The white looks good but the R8 will pull ahead in a drag race hands down.

My wife wants the R8 drop top. I would rather have the coupe but I'm not going to complain either way.

Any issues with the R8 that we should look out for?
