Thanks, that puts my mind at ease. Even my son asked what all that hiss was about and could I get rid of it (he wanted to hear the CAI only).

So you mean that part that connects to the valve cover and receives the hose --and folks have been drilling out with bigger holes--is now bigger by design in the 2013? If so, that makes all the sense.

Yep no reason to drill out the oem in 13 lfx have larger rear barb. I can contest to that. I posted pic earlier in thread of 13 removed.

On the hiss do remember that the OEM PCV hose lives entirely under the insulated engine cover. When you install the catch can you take a good length of highly flexible hose (2 feet or so) outside the insulated cover.

The OEM PCV hose also has more insulation in some sections than the hose used for the CC.

Has anyone made a full on install video for this? It would help clear so much up

Hissing is not heard unless you have hood up and listening for it. No matter which can you use hissing is going to be there. Cannot go wrong with elite.

Hey all,

I installed my elite can today. Is the rubber hose resting on the electrical wiring anything to worry about? The rubber hose feels pretty hot after driving...

I cut the input hose length so it does not rest on anything.

FYI, just installed an Elite Engineering can on our 2014 LFX with 1200 miles on it. Got the same hissing sound after warm up. I thought one of my hoses had a hole in it at first. I ended up squeezing the hose going into the can for a second and the hissing went away immediately and came back immediately after I let go, so I figured it was normal. A little annoying, but not a big deal I guess. Was going to see if I could find stiffer hose tomorrow, but it appears that didn't help the original poster. Maybe I can find some of that foam insulation to cover the hoses, like what's on part of the original hard line.

I like the can though. I got the red one from JDP. Like another member, they had the best price I could find.

When I installed mine I tried to us as much of the stock tubing as possible. I'm the person who made the above video. I just felt if I could use as much of the stock tube as possible, the plastic would hold up better than the rubber.

The can definitely helps, there is so many of them on the market now. I guess everyone is trying to cash in lol

Agree, but we're one of the few that have been around designing and testing our Catch Cans for almost 10 years now.

Not new to the market, and not just trying to cash in

RX also sells another very good Catch Can

So while at one of the local parts stores looking for something else for my truck, I seen these 3/8 nylon fuel line repair kits. It had another size piece in there with it and barbed fittings.

Would this work in place of the rubber hoses for a catch can, if I can find an reducer barbed fitting from the 3/8 to whatever size the factory pipe is? Maybe it would eliminate or reduce the hissing since it's hard material. I figure if it's good for fuel it should be good this as long as there are no leaks.

I had a similar hissing from my hose on the Elite can. Strangely I noticed the hose is not perfectly round. I rotated the line about 45 degrees on both fittings and the pitch of the hissing became almost gone. So I recommend giving it a try. I only had to do this in the line from the pcv to the can.
