Installed solo cats and the car runs terrible

I have an L99 with solo axle back exhaust and a CAI intake and I installed hiflow cats yesterday. Well I'm about half through the drive from Houston to Waco and if I try and give anything more than 50% throttle on the high way I get a service stabili track message and I lose power. It clears up if I stay off the throttle but comes right back on. WTF is going on?

Not sure what the issue could be. But I definitely wouldn't chalk it up so say that Solo is causing this issue. How long have you had all these mods on before this started happening? None of your mods will void warranty. May want to have dealership check it out. What ever the issue is may be covered under warranty.

If it started after the cat installation I would check the connections at the 02 sensors.

Is their anyway one of the spark plug wire could have came loose, exactly the same thing hapend to me when I installed my headers turned out to be a loose spark plug wire, the rubber boot was on the spark plug so I could'nt really see it until I pushed the boot in.
good luck geting it back together!!!!

I would be willing to bet it has to do with your air intake/maf sensor.

Have you contacted Solo yet? Maybe a bad cat, maybe plugged up?

Yea, I would check all conections, something must be lose. I have installed these multiple times on my L99 and never had an issue. Solo is top notch.

I checked all the connections and double checked the sparl plug wires as well and nothing. The CEL is on now so I'm going to plug it in sometime today and see what it has to say.

Have you contacted Solo yet? There is no way that they should be causing this problem! You should NOT have to tune with Solo cats!

edit: I forgot to ask, have you checked to make sure that they came with the O2 extenders installed? Who did the install?

Before you spend the time and effort to put the stock cats back in, double check the connections. Unplug them and look inside the recepticles, even though plugged in a pin could be bent Are you using 02 extenders?. Normally the Solo's don't require tunning.

Yes the extenders are in and I have checked the connections more than a few times. Checking my posts above I never mentioned the white elephant in the room, they are used cats. I have talked to I believe Steve at Solo to pick his brain a bit and he was more than happy to try and help me out. Unfortunately it looks like I may have been misled on the condition of the cats because in all fairness to Solo they make a quality product and I should not be having these problems.

Unless they're clogged I wouldn't bet it's the cats themselves. Fire it up cold and stick your hands around the manifold flanges and check for leaks. I've had my car act like yours with a leak at the flange that probably screwed with the front O2 sensor's ability to give good information to the ECM. It went away when I got everything seated like it was supposed to be.

Did they come off a supercharged vehicle? If that is the case they can be in pretty bad condition. Double check for leaks and that your O2 sensors are in securely.

You should be able to see both sides of the catalyst material in each downpipe. They should look fairly clean even after thousands of miles unless the tune is crappy and shaped like rolled up corrugated cardboard.

Did you put each sensor back in it's original position?

Oh and what exactly were the codes as there are many related to O2 sensors?

If you can log your 02 sensor voltage you might just have a bad sensor.
I screwed up one of mine during install of my jba cats and i swore i was really careful with them. Check your ltft and stfts. Good luck.

What really has me scratching my head is I've driven about 200 miles since Monday and if I drive "normally " in traffic the CEL shuts off after a while but as soon as I give it more than 50%-60% throttle all hell breaks loose again.

You've got a leak or a bad front driver's side O2 sensor. P1133 is just the computer complaining the the O2 sensor data isn't good enough to manage trims with.
