Quick question, installed the TB and heard a loud pop or crack when tighting the upper left bolt. Did I over torque and cause damage to the manifold? Checked it over didn't see and cracks up top. Should I be concerned?

The bolts only require minimal tightening, I believe 8ft pounds. Do you take the tb off and look at it? I would because there should be no pop/cracking sound.

Yeah, upon visual inspection I did not see and cracks on TB or manifold. I was being very careful not to over tighten, I hit them all equally do a slow quater turn and heard a pop and stopped. Back the biolt out a quarter turn checked over everything removed TB saw nothing re assembled with no issue.

Mine arrived today, I'm waiting for the car to cool down so I can put it on now. It was a long wait!

The proper torque specification is 106 inch/lbs . So just about 9 ft/lbs. Run all bolts in by hand, then start torque sequence.

You'll find that the bolts are not very tight when you remove your throttle body. If you dont have a TQ wrench, I snug them all down by hand doing a criss cross pattern. Top left, Bottom right, Top right, Bottom left. Snug them down hand tight equally, Then only about a 1/4 turn more with a ratchet.

Dont over tighten. They arent going away where.

Sooo, called my local service rep and started talking about mods when I asked how would an aftermarket TB would affect my warranty ( my car 2013 w/ under 1000 miles)... He said, "it will VOID my warranty".... FML, I already sent the stock TB back not knowing this!!! Feeling pretty stupid, should have done my homework a little bit better.... Guess there's nothing to do now than go ahead and add FI !!! Frustrated with myself on that move....

1st- this will not void your warranty, has about the same impact as a CAI.
2nd- and most important, 999 out of 1000 techs won't even realize it been changed out, even if you painted it. In fact my dealer thought my painted one looked good.
3rd- why oh why even mention this (or any mod) to your dealer?
4th- FI will certainly void your warranty
5th- Calm down

It's not painted and I never told him my name, this conversation was over the phone! It all started with me asking about the Cats on the car... So, he doesn't know me or my car from Adam! And it's not like I would go up there in person and say, "hey, Mr. Service rep... These are all my mods, this won't hurt my warranty, will it?" But, thanks with giving me your experience with your local rep!

Can you actually tell the difference without a tune? I cant justify throwing away a 5 year warranty for a tune right now...

I agree with this. Afterall it is still a stock part. You would have to be looking for it to notice.

Best regards,

Unless you tell them that you changed it, the chances of them finding out are miniscule. Externally, it appears no different than stock, and unless you have a stock one right next to it for a side-by-side comparison, they probably won't even notice if they do look inside.

Awesome to see folks who have been rocking them for a while now chiming in to help.

Really easy mod, you'll be regretting not doing it sooner if anything. Always here to support if needed and it doesn't have to be a technical conversation for those just curious about them.

We can help make the choices easier for ya!

Depends on which one you want and if they're in stock and when you order.

As of right now I have loads of LFX, LLT and LS2/7's on the shelf now. Any of those can be there pretty quick if needed.

We include Free USPS Priority Shipping if that matters...
