If tests prove that it does what you say it does, I am in for 1. Just hope you can keep up with demand!

Surprised that none of the paying vendors aren't upset at this free advertising thread.

Anyhow, does it only work for GM vehicles?

Assuming a person with multiple GM vehicles can buy this ONE device if they want to just switch back and forth? Across multiple model years too

It's not married to the car, so yes.

Also, saw on the other link the OP had... will Onstar put "Incomplete Report" when you get your monthly email from them?

Is that true with this particular device?

The short answer is "yes" they will send a message to the OBDII and see that something is plugged in. That something could be a monitor, a Progressive snapshot device.. anything. It will then say it's incomplete.

You can schedule it for certain days/times and just remove the device to get a complete report.

Stupid question maybe but why disable AFM? If you're cruising the highway you don't need all 8 cyl's sparking away, right? Why cripple a an engineered feature that's made to save its customers some money?

Because AFM is junk and sounds like crap to most people. Your not crippling AFM. This device is just telling the ECM that the conditions to go into AFM have not been meet, so AFM does not activate. Unplug the device and everything goes back to normal. Your basically using this device to tell the ECM a little white lie!

It sounds horrible with aftermarket exhaust systems and the car lags when going back into v8 mode.

GROUP BUY!

No joke.... earlier today I was driving and thinking 'someone should make a switch that plugs in to the OBD port that turns this AFM crap on and off'

Just waiting on the vendor stuff to go through so we can set you up with a link and a coupon code for a sweet C5 discount.
