I'm sure after we figure things out, we will see people truly try to push the limits of this "little" v6

I agree. I don't think many v6 owners want to blow their engine up.after awhile a daily driver can only have so much power that's usable.ive seen many v8 owners spin out at the track when they have too much power.

Then there are others like me that are completely happy with the IPF SC giving me the V8 power for my daily drive. I don't expect to get to the track but for once a year. Not really looking to break land speed records but want to know I have the power there thats reliable. The great gas mileage is the frosting on the cake

Looks like it will be a few more weeks to a month til i get to the track again.I broke my driveshaft bolts when i was heating up my tires.I decided to get a stronger drive shaft.So im waiting for the drive shaft shop to send me one over.

I actually went on a test drive with a buddy trying to get an SS. For some reason I was glad that I went the FIv6 route

He could not get around me in the straights, but would close on the turns, he had tires that stuck like glue- NT05 Nittos with a wider setup with a competition driver and a track alignment. I was on street tires, oe Pirellis up front and Nitto Invos in the rear, first time driver on the track here. But even then it was close... I LET him around so I could learn his lines.

Hey sycraft, you should look into doing a build journal! Love what you've done with the car! And I wish I could try racing on an actual course as opposed to racing in a parking lot with cones

Sycraft I noticed on the V6 fast list that you've ran your manual on the 1/4 mile drag.Any tips on launching or an idea where to launch at in your IPF v6?Im still waiting around for my drive shaft before I can run my car again.

I did and there was a halo run that does not count.. with a slipping clutch I ran 13.2. and best was a 12.9. I had to launch a little off idle and roll into it, 2.3 60 is the best I could do with a weak clutch. Spinning is a problem. May try again when new clutch is installed and may have to borrow some DRs. not really intested in breaking stuff from a hard launch. not sure what the trans will take.

That's actually my fear too. Specially after breaking the 3 drive shaft bolts off.my clutch grabs hard still . I launched it at 2800 and my whole car was side ways all the way thru 1st.i didn't even get down the track. I figured the new one piece driveshaft will fix this problem.Thinking of getting 3.91 gears.then just working on suspension sway bars. What mods did your car have on it when you ran the 1/4?

just the SC on the stock Pirelli 20's... many mods since..I am already about to shift at the end of the 1/4, so 3:91 may add a shift and possibly slow me down. trapping 109 now.

Plus autocross and track days are alot more fun !!!
