Thanks Palmer, I appreciate it.

The ones saying negative things, maybe the mpg's DO matter to some, the AFM is annoying, but for some, a 10-20% decrease in mileage, may not be worth it to some. Some of us came from a 20 mpg V6 Camaro, to a 16 mpg V8, and while we LOVE the difference, the AFM may not be all bad for us if we will end up with a 13 or 14 mpg V8.

I also prefer not to buy one, only to use their money-back guarantee because we aren't happy with the TOTAL outcome of its use.

Keep up the good work!

Jim

Well said, but the beauty of this device, you don't have to leave it in all the time...Use it for a part-time toy...Un-plug it, and you're back to AFM and mileage gains, if that's what you prefer...Unlike a full time tune-out of AFM, you have that option with the Range device...

Yep. I will be taking a 800 mile road trip the first weeend in April and intend to do a mileage check (same route and same type driving - it's about 2/3 interstate and 1/3 state roads and a few small towns) up and back. One way I'll have the Range plugged in; one way I'll have it unplugged. Will report when finished.

Forty5th: I have had the device unplugged for two days and put about 60 miles on the car. AFM worked as usual - ugh! - device is plugged back in now.

x2.. i cracked after 3 days lmao

This is perfect for me right now... I dont want to tune my car just yet, but when I do, I plan on leaving AFM active in "D" when 45+ in 5th/6th, but have it completely tuned out in "S"

This is a good stop gap for alot of people

Adam: If a car is tuned with AFM not removed... i would imagine this product works just the same, correct?

I've never heard of someone tuning a car and not removing AFM.

Really? I've seen several folks on here talk about having done just what BB213 is talking about.

^^ yep I saw it on the forums and had something similar on my g35 tune (not afm, but different maps that I could change to and from in the fly)

Basically I like afm on the highway but hate it in city driving.. So I would like to keep it under highway speed/high gear parameters in drive... then with basically a flick of a switch (shifting to "S") having a full time v8

Until then, this device is perfect for me.. On a highway trip, just unplug!

Yeah - sorry. USPS has terrible tracking.

It should be there tomorrow. Then a full weekend of V8 awesomeness.

Be sure there are no elevation changes from starting point to ending point. It can effect your calculations.
I always get better mileage going to Knoxville from here than coming back from Knoxville to here because of the 1,000 ft difference in elevation.

Sure, it won't be perfect and there is a 400' difference in elevation between my start point and end point, but the terrain (hills, valleys, etc,)is pretty similar coming and going. I've made the trip a dozen times or more so I think it will be a pretty good test. No drastic changes in elevation. Most of it is pretty flat.

Yeah it shouldn't be as bad, a 400ft elevation change over 400 miles wouldn't be as noticeable as 1000ft in 100 miles. It usually has a 1 to 2 mpg difference on my trip.

Question

Question for all who have the Range: is it a bad thing that i dont want to drive without the Range unplugged? I havent driven with out since i got it and i kind of want to drive to feel the AFM one last time? Its just for my peace of mind.
