Is IOM price protected?

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before, and if it has a link would be very helpful. But, I ordered back in october and my car was just built on the 8th of this month and is on its way (should be here next week or the week after) and my dealer is giving me the first issue i've had with them through the whole process.

They are telling me that the increase in price for IOM paint, from being included to being premium, is not protected under GM's program because its a paint price increase not an increase on the car itself. Also, she said that if it were price protected the invoice would reflect that.

Is all of this true? If not, where can I direct her so that she can see all of this as well. I would like to think she simply doesn't know as oppossed to her trying to get this extra 400-ish dollars out of me at the end(not much in the grand scheme of things, yes, but enough to talk to them about).

Thanks in advance.

If it says R6P, then yes it is. However just like the United Nations and how it enforces all those UN resolutions...GM will also look the other way when the rules are broken.

Mine is an R6P IOM ordered Nov 08 but the cost for IOM was on my window sticker and added to the MSRP price that I paid. I wasn't going to argue over it.

You should have told them to call GM and have them explain what the R6P code actually is.. It would have saved you some money..

Having the same problem here!

Ordered a 2SS/RS and was charged GMS on the car, but full price for all the options with an assurance from salesperson that would all be refunded when price adjusted. That came to $1067. I heard from dealer that I got it all back today minus the charge for the IOM paint.

Anyone?

My dealer subtracted $325.00 for inferno orange metallic and $45 for the increase in the destination charge.
