Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

I would love to have an SS/TC for a daily driver. Can't beat the combination of practicality, price, and performance.

Not to play devil's advocate here...but wasn't the SS/TC faster around the 'Ring than the Camaro SS??

I think the Camaro ran an 8:20, at least thats what this article says:
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=129586
And the Cobalt ran an 8:22.85:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordsch...ction_vehicles

The Camaro probably can't corner as fast, but must blow it away in the straights.

I think a production SS actually did it in 8:19. That's still only 3 seconds on that long track. The Cobalt SS's 8:22 is the fastest production FWD to circle the ring that I know of....

I want a camaro ss.....

Hell I am already paying 365 a month for her!

But idk. I am guessing insurance would kill me.... :/

I wonder how the race would go against a Camaro SS though

I love my Cobalt its an awesome little car, bang for the buck off the chart. I'd rather have a Camaro lol. I hope this doesn't get back to my Cobalt- for me this whole site is sort of like loving my wife but looking at porn.

I had the pleasure of testing driving a Cobalt SS/TC a few years ago...needless to say...I got pulled over during the test drive. Salesman was like, "Don't worry, it happens all the time." It definitely is a fun little car. Hopefully GM will make an SS/TC Cruze...Fingers crossed!

- man I'm gona get beat down.

Most of the autocross listing Ive seen around Texas have the CSRT4 above the Cobalt in ranking. But these are not the large courses.

Agreed, I personally would stick with the Camaro

but its soooo ugly! The cobalt is definitely a mean lil piece of machinery... only thing that really kept from looking at one more seriously was the interior. Camaro just blows it away on every level, so meh. Would definitely be a great car to build into racer though

I have a Cobalt SS/TC for my daily driver and it's definitely fun for what it is.

It has no lift shift and launch control from the factory and makes almost the same amount of power as an S197 Mustang GT from the factory and weighs much less

Stock, mine made 251 WHP / 258 WTQ and with only a tune, it made 279 WHP / 321 WTQ.

It's a turbo car, so it picked up a little bit of boost too, but at 2,600 lbs. and that much down low power, it's a fun little car. It's the increase in torque that made a huge difference. I like picking on other cars, because they just don't expect it

I wouldn't buy it over a Camaro, but it's a fun daily driver...

Here's a few videos of another one we did just a tune on.

These videos and going for a ride in this car are what made me buy one for a DD.

2009 Cobalt SS turbo, stock except Livernois Tune.
