I still think the ass is hideous, but who cares about that. Now the car is stunning!

I respectfully detract my commments from yesterday.

Chevy hit a home run here. Looks great, LS7, and manual only option. Not to mention lighter weight too.

Well,well,well...I said a long time ago Z28 with LS7 427 and was immediately shot down by the so called experts in here. That it was too expensive and too heavy to make it in a Z28.

Awesome news! Surprised, but glad, that they went with the LS7. Looks to have the right kinda formula that makes a z28, a z28. Good job GM! Keep this work up.

Also.. am I the only one who likes the entirety of the new redesign? I actually like those tail lights.. Maybe more so than the 2010-2013 tail lights..

I dont see it flying off the dealerships though. To impractical for most drivers, and with the price tag im sure it will have, it wont be worth it for most. I see it selling well the first few months when all the z/28 loyalist, and hard core enthusiast line up to get their hands on it. I think the ZL1 will out sell it its just a better bargin for most. People have grown so accustomed to all the little features that should have never been put in cars like these. I give GM props for making a car like this the way it should be, with out all the creature comforts!

Im wondering where all the people that hated it yesterday are? I will admit it looks a lot better in this color but its still ugly. The front is fine, but that rear should never have the z/28 badge on it! Stil is going to be a good performing car. i cant wait to see some track and strip times from it.
You forget the Camaro likely gained weight from 2010 - 2012 with the reinforcement for the ZL1...

Weight
"To optimize the track performance of the Camaro Z/28, the engineering team subjected it to an intensive lightweighting program, saving 100 pounds (45 kilograms) compared to the naturally aspirated Camaro SS and 300 pounds (136 kilograms) to the supercharged Camaro ZL1."
SS = 3,860 lbs - 100 = 3,760
1/4 mile guess with ~+80hp and -100lbs: 11.7 - 12.1
0-60 guess: 3.9

The front is better on this than the '14 SS.

But the rear... I think somebody found a box stamped "1978 Z/28" and said hey what about these?

Pretty nice if it comes with a 48k-50k price.

Wheel opening tack-ons for wider tires?
like the front.
not the rear.

I wonder when they hit the lots and streets if people will really want to have this car once they drive it.

No A/C (optional, will add ~80+lbs)
No sound deadening
No stereo
No fog lights
No HIDs
No carpet in trunk
Stiffer track oriented suspension

If I wanted something without modern creature comforts I would buy an old car and just upgrade the motor.

Everyone's lauding the weight savings of the Z/28, but in all honesty I still think the ZL1 is the better overall "practical" super muscle car.

How hard it is to save 200lbs on a ZL1 by stripping out the a/c, radio, speakers, fog lights, sound deadening, etc. Buy some light wheels and the weight difference won't be that much.
