Just checked the Z07 package on the Z06 is 7500 and that includes the MR shocks. Take 2000 of that and you can think $5,500 for the brakes.

But the LS7 remains the wild card. It and the aluminum frame accounted for the main difference between a base Corvette and a Z06.

I would hope Chevy/GM markets this car to the masses not just the 3 folks that will actually buy it if it really lists for $70,000+ like folks are assuming....

I don't think it will be in the $70-80k range, but in the 60's seems about where it would be...

How much will the Z28 cost in full

Looks like this car will cost over 110 K for me to buy it, 1/2 of that is for a new garage to keep her in, cant have a car like this in a small 5 car garage, need to go big so i may have to build a new 3000SF one to hold her.

What do you think can you park this work of art next to the .....

If the sticker is in the 60's we'll be lucky... add the dealer markup BS and you'll easily be talking 75,000 or more for one. Bank on it.

You guys saying low to mid 40's are living in a dream world.

If you look at the Dealer brochures that have had links posted to you'll notice the list the cars from left to right in order of best performance to least performance. You'll also notice that trend happens to follow the current pricing hierarchy as well. So my guess is the Z/28 will cost between 65-70K given that it's a purpose built track car.

$65k and you're choices will be a base Corvette or the Z/28.

I think GM said... "I don't mind competing with myself (Vette or Z) if I knock everyone else out of that price bracket". And they might just be right.

p.s. still not big on the 'refresh' for the SS, but you can see they made the changes specifically for the Z/28 now.

Fbodfather mentioned 50,000 isn't feasible with new CAFE standards and made it sound like that number isn't very close either. So it'll probably be somewhere around 60 before dealer markups.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

-Specifications
  • Wheelbase, inches: 108.1
  • Weight, lbs: 3,765
  • Number built: 20,302
  • Base price: $3,185
-Top Available Engine
  • Type: ohv V-8
  • Displacement, cid: 302
  • Fuel system: 2 x 4 bbl.
  • Compression ratio: 11.0:1
  • Horsepower @ rpm: 290 @ 5800
  • Torque @ rpm: 290 @ 4200
-Representative Performance
  • 0-60 mph, sec: 7.4
  • 1/4 mile, sec @ mph: 15.12 @ 94.8
The base price of a 1969 Camaro Z/28 was less than $3,200. I suppose that wasn't cheap back then, but I would guess that it was much more affordable than 2014 will be.

The real question seems to be this: how many people are willing to buy a track car with so few compromises for comfort? This is the perfect car for my use scenario (lots of track days), but I'm not sure about the size of this market. My gut tells me Chevy could easily sell this at a profit for $50K. Which means they'll probably price it at $55K...

Someone needs to start a thread where we guess the total number of Z/28 production units... ;-)

I'm gonna guess 65K to 70k...I don't see GM pulling wires and shaving glass and removing weight just to save the buyer some money...lol.

Hey Quick....yes, I did see alot of stickers on lots and questioned the price of what they gave for the money. I am sure you probably overpaid for the price you stated, but, are happy none the less! But for the facepalm, please note it was a speculated price we discussed here for almost 18 months before you even posted, and I caveated it with a maybe if we are lucky conclusion.

Some of you have your expectations absurdly low I think. Got to get real folks. This car seems to have the best of everything. I highly doubt GM will sell tons of these. A lot of our members asked for exactly this, and GM has delivered. In my eyes, a low production car is often paid for by the consumer.
