tinted front windshield

I haven't seen any threads with any pics on this yet so I'm posting a couple pics of my car. I had the front windshield tinted today, I think it makes the whole car look a lot better since the tint on all windows now is the same, plus it goes great with the black stripes. I know it's illegal but whatever, it looks good. I'm probably gonna take the windshield wipers off tomorrow since I don't plan on ever driving it in the rain and I always use Rain-X anyways, should make for a cleaner look.

Oh and I know the stripes and car in general look dirty, that's cuz it got rained on today

Haha, I'm actually gonna try driving it around the neighborhood tonight to see how it is, if it's bad I'll just drive my mustang if I plan on being out at night. The lights are pretty bright so I think I'll be fine. My brother has the same tint on his car and he drives around at night all the time.

All windows are tinted 20%. I just went for a drive around 10:30 to see how it is driving at night. I took it down a road with no lights on it and on the highway. It really was't bad at all. With lights on the roads, it looks pretty normal, you just can't see quite as far as you normally can. With no lights on the roads, it still isn't too bad because the camaro has very bright headlights. I still won't be driving it very much at night. During the daytime, it's no problem at all, it's just like wearing sunglasses.

Better drive it like an alter boy cause you'll be drawing alot of attention and tinting windshields and removing wipers is illegal. Don't give them any reason to pull you over. Haha! Looks schweeeeet!

No windshield wipers is illegal too? Even if I'm not driving in the rain? That's stupid. I am gonna keep them in the trunk in case I need to put them back on quickly. I know cops are gonna be all over this thing. I wonder how long til I get pulled over...

This is just asking for trouble in many ways. Its going to open the door for the State Police Officer scrutinizing the rest of the windows as well. I have been all through this before and ended up having to pull all the film off and having to re-do it at the legal limit. Also, I can't tell you how many times I have put down my drivers window at night as a result of tint just to see out before I pull out in traffic or see a curb when turning left. The windshield that dark is just asking for an accident at night.

Wipers are required in PA. Part of the yearly inspection is to test the wipers to see if they work, although alot of stations don't bother. Check your laws in MD.

You may know one or two police officers, however that is not going to get you out of this if another cop tickets you for it.. Once you get written up, even if your friend calls up the officer that wrote you up, they will be hard pressed to make the ticket disappear. Also, window tinted that dark will cause trouble seeing thru the sides and rear because you don't have light shining out in that direction as you do in the front. Very dangerous.. But good luck though, hope nothing happens to you..

As for wipers, rain-x doesn't stop you from getting tons of bugs on the windshield which will also make it harder to see on a road trip..

I'll get a work order to get the tint taken off and then it will have to pass inspection, this is where a cop friend comes in handy. I drove it around during the day today and it's not that dark inside while driving, at night it is darker but still not too bad. Still, I don't plan on driving it around at night very often because it is dangerous. Worst case with the cops...I'll take it off if I have to.

This also is not my daily driver, if it was, I wouldn't be doing any of this because it is too dangerous to be driving around all the time like that.

Too dangerous to be driving around all the time like that, then it's too dangerous to be driving around. YOU may not be the one who gets hurt.

Don't be surprised if or when you get into an accident you are automatically found at fault. Having said that...it does look sweet!

I'll be getting 70% on my windshield. The guy who is gonna do it will give me half price (regular price of $150 chopped down to $75) for letting him post it on his company's website. Once it gets done, I'll post pics and who did it. BTW, the tinting is being done in Grand Rapids, MI.

Sounds like we need Matrix to set you straight. Ask him about his driver side window tint on his Dodge Magnum...

Im so glad Maryland is far from Texas, where I spend most of my time. I'd hate to have you on the road around me with that. Incredibly irresponsible I hope no kids are out around dusk or if, God forbid, your plans to not drive in the rain are messed up by surprise shower...but hey you can just tell their mothers how cool your car looks right?

There's appearance and there's functionality. Don't get the 2 confused.
Don't prioritize appearance over functionality.
