For anyone not there yet. The DRL harness plug has a lock. Slide the grey slider back and push down on the black rocker to release. I needed a screwdriver to pry the lock back. This is topside so you can't see it well.

Got an 1-1/2 in on it. All that is left is the halo LED install and the switchback wiring I added with Joe's help. Kit is SUPER thus far!

One headlight down! It fought a vicious battle but I won. I'm hoping I can apply lessons learned on number two tomorrow. Joe makes it look so easy. LOL

You're almost there! It takes patience for sure. The two sizes of torx bits that we include really help. Try to do it without the longer one...really tough. It sure beats the alternative of baking/prying/re-shaping.

Joe,

Did you get an email from me? I had a switchback question for you.

Thanks,
Mike

Where do these ground? I've got the JDP kit and it seems the horn grounded screw isn't working anymore.... colors aren't changing unless I reset the box every time and sometimes that doesn't work...

See my image on post #106. You can see the ground screw to the left of the control module, just toward the rear of the car from the flange in the sheetmetal. Joe actually notes in the install video that you can use the horn ground if you choose but it can be insufficient, depending on how well all the parts were painted. Good paint prevents a ground.

I have never seen any locks on the front bumper harnesses. I guess some have them, some don't. Thanks for the heads-up!

I really like your paint job!

The video shows:
1. Halo Kit with DRL Harness. Some of the videos show the grill light which was added later. Also used on airbox to side-light the glass.

2. SL Module for undercarriage.

3. HP Module for spotlights in engine bay (custom made spots - trying to find a manufacturer), and both floorboard light strips.

4. ABL lighting kit for doors and dash (available very soon).

Pricing for the halo kit, SL module, and HP modules are on the website. Pricing has not been determined yet for ABL Lighting Kit.

Yep, you can sand down the paint around the horn bolt, or you can simply use another self-tapping screw and screw into the pinch weld on the frame. We also suggest using a star-washer which bites in as well.

Maybe a 2013 thing? No problem. If I wasn't lazy and pulled the wheels and dropped the inner fender liners I'd be able to stare right at it.

I just looked at your adapter to figure out how the connector worked and realized mine had the lock.

Finished up install last night. It was really late and I didn't have a chance to grab low light pics but I have to say that I am truly impressed with how well this kit is assembled and the insane functionality of the app. Thanks for putting together such an amazing kit, Joe!

Very nice! It's great to see this kit on another ZL1! Did you do the fog light harness too?
