We were planning on cutting off the roof but just ran out of time. Funny you mention the Ring boys, they were going to get a ZL1 from GM for a SEMA project and we were hoping if they did, we could get a roof from them but unfortunately by the time GM agreed, the boys didn't have the time to take on the project
There will be plenty of time after Sema to cut the roof off the car.

2014 Z28 Nose & Ground Effects
Once the car is available from GM I am certain you will be able to get the fender mouldings (flares) and work them into you ground effects without having to change over to the newer front & rear nose & tail. I plan on buying a set when they become available for my car. I am also going to swap out my GM Rockers skirts for the ZL1 because I damaged mine and the only way I can get them is to buy the entire GM Kit.

I was a track photographer there until sports car racing took a back seat to off-road stuff. I have no interest in that at all.

I can't remember if Aaron ever got any of my photos, but I sure enjoyed seeing him, George and J R Smith (no relation to George, but another Pfadt customer/sponsee) race.

There are a lotta road racing photos on my primary website: http://www.chevyasylum.com/Welcome.html (click on the Road Racing thumbnail, then select a year, then an event and so on) as well as other car stuff. I primarily do car shows and Land Speed Racing now. I've retired as a freelance photographer, but still shoot what I like.

Btw, I just finished doing a complete undercoating job on my 2010 2SSRS prior to racing it on the salt flats. Another wonna them "it started out as a little bitty thing..." deals. I'm just about ready to put it back together. I better hurry cuz I gotta have it on the trailer in 4 days. I'll post photos of that project in another thread.
Great pics!

To the OP, I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Couldn't be more proud to see our suspension on such an amazing car

Thanks guys, In all honest, incorperating the Pfadt components has been a huge motivating factor to take the car to the next level. I have said it before and will say it again, those pieces are a work of egineering art! Thanks again for all your guys before and after!

Hope to be their.

Quick update:

We are extremely backed up! There were a few areas we weren't happy with and ended up redoing the entire engine bay!

We also re spray the floor pan to cover the areas I couldn't do on our two post lift. Thought we would be finished today but Carlos "painter" received an emergency call and had to leave. He has gone the extra mile to get the car done. I can't say how much we appreciate his and his team hard work!

The carbon really pops with the white. We are so glad we decided to stay true to our theme and keep the color factory white! Pearl would have definitely veering from the goal.

Justin going at it........ It takes some guts to cut into a $3,200 hood. I guess the hood wasn't lght enough for him

Wish us luck as we are going to need for all the ducks to fall into places over the next 11 days.

Current punch list.

  • paint the trunk pan
  • paint hood
  • paint the under side of the trunk gray
  • cut and polish the doors
  • cut and polish both front fenders
  • Cut and polish rockers
  • cut and polish front bumper
  • cut and polish rear bumper
  • cut and polish front bumper
  • install mirrors and door handles
  • align doors to fenders
  • align door windows
  • install rockers
  • install rear bumper
  • install rear spoiler
  • install rear diffuser
  • install front bumper
  • install front splitter
  • install windows
And this is just the beginning!

Usually I prefer the little gap on the rockers unpainted but it looks good in white here! Must be the CF

Nathan and Justin, I wish I could be there to lend a hand with assembly or whatever you need. After SEMA you need to take the car on a nationwide tour!

They really could have had a overhaulin' type moment, where all the vendors and camaro5 members got together to finish this car in two days.

Thanks guys for all the props.

Justin did the cut outs on one half of the hood and then made templates to make sure both sides were symmetrical.

Well......... lets just say you're not going to miss much!

Unfortunately, due to one SINGLE individual, everything we have worked so hard for over the last two years, has blown up in our faces!

We are so disappointed and frustrated, it's hard to put into words. Maybe I will post details at a later time but right now, we are just burnt with this whole deal. What a let down. This guy doesn't realizes the implication of his actions or lack there of.

Signing out perhaps for a while. See you guys.

Oh man, that sucks! Hope you come up with a Plan B that allows you to make it to the show. Reminds me of years ago when I had a '95 Camaro sitting at Lingengelter for about a year, waiting for them to finish my damned car.

Things happen and sometimes they happen for reasons that we may never understand. Just move forward and continue to do what you guys have been doing. Just slow the pace down so you can enjoy it more.
