dont think you can because your car goes by voice, i know most phones do to but you have to type it in first and when putting contacts in the car you say there name. but i havent really messed with it as much as i should

Go get a bluetooth equipped cell phone and that will not be an issue. I got mine synch'd and it works very well.
All you do is climb into the car and it is working.-Mark. |

I have a Blackberry and it does not synch the phonebook...so I have the same question. The phone is connected and I am making calls/dialing with it.

I really think your going to have to store each name and number the way the cars software does it , just keep saying store and then the name and numbers

Does pressing the call button in the car signal the call button on the phone? Just the same as pressing it on a bluetooth headset does? The reason I ask is my phone has voice recognition built in (yay windows mobile!) and on a bluetooth headset I can press and hold the talk button and it will trigger the voice command software and then I can just tell it who to call. I'm thinking the Camaro should be able to work the same way unless they did something screwy.

you can store numbers in the car, but you have to do it one by one and you have yo give them a Voice tag. push the call button on the steering wheel and it will say "ready" and you stay "store" then it will ask for name and number. and when you want to call that person you push the phone button and it will say "ready" the you say "Call XXXX".

So, that's an alternative to storing all of your contacts in the vehicle. Although, it does take longer to follow this route. You may want to store your frequent contacts in the vehicle and for your other contacts, use your phone's speech rec.
