Need help deciding on exhaust for my 12 Camaro SS

HELP!!!!!

I have a 2012 Camaro SS and plan on installing a new exhaust system when it comes out of storage. The problem is I can't decide. I thought I had my heart set on the Borla Atak, but them I heard some sound clips that made me second guess it. So then I started checking out Flowmaster.

I want mean, deep, loud and aggressive. I love the sound of old school america muscle cars and want to get as close to that as I can. Once the warranty is up, I plan on putting in a cam to complete the "sound" I am looking for, but for now I am starting with the exhaust.

Any suggestions??? Any sound clips / videos to help sway my decision?

I have the Borla S-type. Had it since 2011. I love the strong base tone...it's meaty and has a lot of muscle. When I punch on the peddle, it's heavy distortion, like you get from a Gibson Les Paul. All balls, no twang. The Atak to me is a little too putty, like a tug boat. Here's the Borla link. The sound clip is pretty close to what you'll get. http://www.borla.com/products/camaro...t__140280.html

if it's a 6speed manual, get the GM dual mode exhaust!
great tone, no drone!

I can't say the same about ANY other catback manufacturer.

Flowmaster's American Thunder is wicked. I love it... you're gonna get a drone about 2000 rpm, so crank the tunes! (like you don't already)

I agree, I also have the Magnaflow Comp 16583 with Stainless Works headers and HFC, the sound is deep and loud on WOT and has a nice low growl when crusing. No drone inside cabin and no raspiness either. A lot of people have told me it has that old school american muscle sound. This one is a 2.5 vs the 16584 which is 3.0

I did a muffler and resonator delete then added the Magnaflow resonated X-Pipe. Used the stock tips and added pipe where the mufflers were. Not bad for $400 compared to other guys who have spent more than double and just as loud. Might do HF cats next and then we got something........

It is a 6 speed, and I remember it had the factory upgraded exhaust, don't remember if it was called "GM dual mode" I'll have to check the window sticker.

I have the Solo Mach XL with J pipes and I'm very happy with the sound. It sounds great with the headers and cam, and I've had many compliments on the sound. The funniest was a little kid so young that his dad was carrying him on his shoulders. They were walking by the house Friday morning when I started the car in the driveway and the boy pointed at it and yelled, "I want that car!"

It wasn't an option in 2012. It started as a 2013 option. I retro-fitted mine along with the rear diffuser to accept the quad-tipped catback.

Is this dual mode exhaust available for a 2012? Would it be something I buy at the dealership, or aftermarket?

Yeah, I get hardly anything in the car whatsoever. Very quiet inside and good sound with adequate volume outside. Doesnt drone with headers either.
