It is a good thing we got rid of the Monte when we did too, the heater core decided to burst upon leaving the house to trade her in, I just pulled off the hose going to the core and looped it back to the engine, topped off the water and proceeded to trade that piece of crap in, that car was nothing but problems, I am even surprised I stuck with Chevy, however THAT was the only Chevy I ever had any problems with. That Avalanche never let me down, come to think of it neither did any other Chevy. I figured I got the one lemon behind me.
I will NEVER own a front wheel drive car again if I can help it, too much crap to cram under the hood in my opinion......friggen thing!
I only had 98,000 miles on mine when I traded it off. It was an excellent car until the last 5000 miles or so. I took it in and had done some routine maintenance on it including a fuel filter and then it started acting up. For years you touched the starter and it was running but after I changed the battery and the routine maintenance something happened to it. I had to crank it longer before starting. Mechanic put in a fuel pressure regulator because he pulled off the line that was attached and fuel was present, worked good for about 1 to 2 weeks and then back to hard starting. Changed fuel pump because mechanic hooked up and tested the fuel pressure and it wasn't hold pressure, again worked good for 1 to 2 weeks and it was back to hard starting. One day at work I fired it up heard a noise or thought I did, shut it off and then it wouldn't start. That ended the Monte. I enjoyed that car but when it started giving me problems it had to go and I am glad I made that decision.

Dean.

We must think alike because I have been looking for a used Wrangler for a winter vehicle but used ones up north here are way over priced. Been looking for a pickup also but same thing.

I had a 2009 Mazda MX-5, best driving car ever... until I realized it was the seat making my back sore everyday. Bummer.

You say you changed the battery in that Monte? Ha Ha! I bet you had fun! I changed the battery too.....what a nightmare! Just about had to remove the whole dang engine to get the battery out! I even had to remove the wheel in order to access the oil filter.
And the torque steer in that car was downright scary especily with the supercharger, if you punch it on an attempt to pass someone you had better be hanging on the steering wheel and be prepared for the car to get a mind of its own and go where IT wants! I just about wrecked the frigging thing several times. With the Camaro I pass wth confidence AND with a lot more power than that Monte had.
I did like everything else about that car thpugh, it was a comfortable car with lots of room

I was driving a 1998 Honda Civic with 175,000 miles on it. Then, my step-sister totaled that, so then I drove a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner with 250,000 miles on it! I still drive it whenever I need to take a lot of stuff with me, or whenever I take the dirt bikes to the track

Nice topic OP

Back in '09 when Obama had his "cash for clunkers" plan i called my Chevy dealer, and they told me if i brought in my beat down to hell old '01 Dodge Ram 1500 they would give me 4500.00 towards a new car. I was like whut. The saleman confirmed it and off i drove to meet my first true love my 2010 RJT 1SS

The rest is how you say...... history!

I let my friend borrow my car one day and he completely totaled it. got my insurance check in the mail and used as the down payment for my new camaro

by the way my friend was not injured. but he may have been after the accident :p his excuse is that I got a camaro out of it lol

2007 Impala SS. It was a bittersweet deal. I really liked my Impala. I was attached to it even though I only had it for less than two years. It was my first newer car, my big "I made it" moment because it was the first thing I bought when I started my career.

But it consumed oil and just ran out of the certified warranty. I found my VR beauty about 3 hours away and made the deal happen that day. Glad I did.

What was really funny was the comments I got about the interior being mint and spotless. The salesperson that sold me the Camaro, and the guy that test drove the car both made comments this is one of the cleanest interiors they have ever seen come in. lol
