Nitrous tuning HP Tuners Question

I need to make a tune for 100 and 150 shot. I am aware that would be 4 - 6 degrees pulled. My question is, where or what table do I pull from and what rpm range? I am running a progressive contoller that will start at 3000 rpm or so and cutoff at around 6000 so I can shift.

I am fighting what I think is 10% ethanol 91 octane fuel right now (only thing available), struggling to get a decent read on afr since my widebands only reference 14.7 stoich and not 14.13 for 10% ethanol.

Thanks for any pointers you can give me!

Change your WB to Lambda mode and 1.0 is stoich regardless of fuel. Fuel AFR/ Fuel Stoich = Lambda.

Your PE will be .80 lambda or so.

Learning to tune in Lambda is of great benefit for alternative fuels with different stoich values than gasoline.

You need to log your pulls and reduce the timing in the Spark advance vs. g/cyl table above the load and rpm when you start spraying in the hi & lo octane tables.

Thanks! I tune and data log with the AEM, I can switch it to lambda. The NOS wideband controller though, that could be a problem. It only reads in afr, 14.7, as far as I can tell. That is what the progressive controller uses for lean/rich cutoff. I will have to dig into that a little further.

The LS3 & L99 PE tables in HP Tuners invert the PE, so .8 lambda PE becomes it's inverse or 1.25 in the PE tables.

I think you get the picture.

Are there any other points that need addressed in the tune as far as nitrous goes besides proper afr of approx 12.8 and timing pulled? My fuel is being supplied from a dedicated fuel system.

Id be a little richer than that and have the PE table start getting rich about 300-500 RPMs before the shot hits.

Pull timing as needed, the fuel enrichment will be handled with your fuel jetting. You can fatten it up some as Phil metioned, because there will be a lean spike when it hits, completely normal.
