Best Intake for V6 Camaro? Help please.

Hey guys, sorry for the random question or if its in the wrong section. But I need help on deciding what Cold-air intake I should use for my v6 Camaro this summer. THis is what Im looking for so far. Im sure there is cheaper and better.

I have the airraid intake for my 2lt. works great and you can get it for under 350 if you look right.

I can only go off of from what I have, and I love it.

In my opinion the best intake is the Cold Air Inductions CAI. To me it looks the best and the performance is there. I noticed a change in acceleration and the overall tone of my car.

I know it's a pretty bad picture but this will give you an idea what it looks like.

x2 on CAI. Not only is Bill a great guy to work with, but the product has been good on every vehicle.

After my catch-can, a CAI in powdercoated black is going on the car.

I have the vararam and it pretty good. I think the CAI is a better setup.

Unfortunately, almost all of the highly recommended intakes are >$300. CAI's cold air intake is $400, for example.

Why does an intake need a top cover, when the RotoFab and others is sealed tight by the hood.

Vararam for 2010-2011; CAI for 2012+.

If you had a 2011 or older, I'd say go for the Vararam, since it's a 2012, I recommend the CAI. Sure it's a little pricey, but it's also quality.

The cover keeps the box sealed (it isn't air tight) so it reduces the chance of their being a heat soak being absorbed into the air from the engine compartment. So keeping it sealed off will keep the air temps a little cooler making the air more dense which will increase the volume of air moved through the filter delivering more to the motor.

their design is just different. they use a cover, others use the hood as the cover.

how does it suck!? You can search just this sub forum for the LLT motors only. There are sooooooo many threads about which cai is the best. I wont even post the results of me doing it because it is so obvious. Im not trying to be a dick, its just that instead of people answering the same answers every time and seeing this same question over and over every day is just annoying.

Im just saying that for a common question like this, this is what the search function was made for.
Also, there is this emoticon for a reason:


so the most popular brands these days are the CAI, the varamam, and to rotofab. Do not get what I got (which is the G5CR intake) because when my car gets hot, I can notice the difference in power because of how signifcant it is. Make sure you get something with a heat shield. Installs on there are probably the easiest of them all. So if you are new, try this at home. good luck buddy

And I do have to point this out to the OP (Not trying to be rude just informing you). You have a 2012 so you have the LFX (12-?) while you posted in the LLT section (2010-11). While we will still give you an answer be sure to realize there is a difference in the intakes. A LLT one will not work on the LFX and vise versa.

which provides you with many results. I would think that more results would better than just a few... anyway, you have a different engine than the LLT which is the sub forum you posted on. You want to go to the LFX section.

You have a 1lt model, which has no correlation to the LLT motor. In 2012, they redid the engine for the v6, which integrated the headers providing more hp. Because of this reason, you can not get headers at all.
