Convertible Top Headliner - Need Pic

Hi Everyone,

New to the forum but need to ask a favor already:

Can someone snap an interior pic or two of their convertible top headliner INSIDE where it meets the door on each side? I just had a top mechanical replacement performed on my 2012 and now the headliner does not cover the side mechanisms on both sides (kinda where your head would be at if you looked left while driving).

Dealer says this is normal, but I never noticed it before. Can someone help me out?

Also noticed a huge increase in wide noise since the repair work. Any ideas?

It would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

sounds to me like they forgot to install the cable that keeps the top tight on top the window. That's what happened to me. there is a steel cable about the diameter of a bicycle brake cable that runs from the front of the top , to just behind the middle rear quarter window. you should be able to see it just where the rear quarter window starts to curve.

Hope this helps...when the top is half open there should be one tabs on each side the holds the front corners of the headliner, you may want to check them.

Mine was/is the same way, even a year after the repair was done. BUT, I haven't noticed any change in the wind noise. I didn't pursue the issue with the mechanism slightly showing because I was happy that someone had actually installed the top so that it wasn't touching the frame when the top was down. 1 year later & it's been great so I don't mind a little bit of an arm showing next to my head.

Mine was like that on the passengers side when they changed mine out. I took it back and they fixed it.
