Question Brushed aluminum facia between tail lights

I just ordered a black 2LT, and I've always loved that brushed aluminum facia
that was on the rear of the '76 &'77 Type LT's. Does anyone have any pics of that kind of customizing being done on the new camaros? Or a name of a company I can order one through?

SIlver Vinyl would work well back there. I am going to be doing these pieces in the next few weeks and I am offering many cool colors.

silver vinyl would be an awesome idea! that'd be significantly cheaper than putting on a chrome or brushed alluminum plate
i know little to nothing about vinyl graphics, would it retain the mirror "chrome" finish?

what i photoshopped was almost more chrome than alluminum, couldn't get that look without turning it into a cheesy cartoon look.

yes, that's the idea. Maybe more of a "brushed" aluminum and not so "chrome" like.
Thanks for doing that...

We have the Trunk Blackouts listed on our website and they are available in Silver Metallic. If there is an interest in a brushed aluminum finish, The material can be ordered.

You have to be careful with the "Brushed Metal" Vinyl. It has a very short life. The Avery product is only a two year vinyl. The other brand I used in the past was a supposed 5 year, it lasted little more than 2 years and started looking worn and peeling. It all depends on the temperature swing it goes through during the year. Because it is on a PLASTIC Base, it does not flex and has a tendency to peel going cold to hot. Warmer states are less of an issue. The other problem with that vinyl, it is very rigid and easy to kink if you are not a careful installer. There is no stretch to it at all. It is a rigid plastic base. I would not sell that to anyone for their car exterior, interior is OK in some cases on smooth surfaces.

I use only top quality 9-10 year vinyl. It will last that long in ideal temp controlled situations. There are many people out there selling 3-5 year vinyls. Mostly because it is easy to get away with. Do your homework before ordering your vinyls. Please feel free to PM me if you have any further questions!

On the '76 - '77's, the panel didn't show reflections. Looked like solid silver with a brushed finish.

I think that would look great on black car Moto.
Nicely done!

I've asked Defenderworx http://ww.defenderworx.com if they can product brushed aluminum bowties, side vent louvers and door sills to go along with the Fuel Door they do offer - they've indicated they can produce though haven't provided price or availability.

I'm going with RiderGraphix Dark Charcoal trunk black-out with the brushed bowtie.

Here's the link to contact them http://www.defenderworx.com/index.ph...id=1&Itemid=23

Why don't you just have an actual brushed aluminum plate bolted thru the trunk..More permanent and better looking..

if i wanted the chrome or brushed look on the back of a car that's probabaly how i'd go about it, with a plate. i know nothing about vinyl pricing or the cost of a chrome plate, but i'd expect, and i assume that a plate would be more expensive.

for some people it boils down to the cost i guess, and whether or not they really want to put bolts through the rear end. and if they only plan to keep the car for a few years, say 5 years, the shorter lifespan of a vinyl won't affect them.

that's my theory
