Attempted home break in

Nothing like coming home to find an attempted break in. Luckily they didn't make it in the house. Now for an unexpected home renovation project this weekend...grrrrr

I have two vicious dogs that will be happy to enjoy a late night snack of arms and legs.

I'm all paranoid now. We were supposed to go away on the weekend. I might have to stick close to home...

Well, the deadbolt and frame I guess. The frame is cracked pretty good, and the door frame strikes are all bent. I had to push the door really hard to close it tight again. Now it won't open because the screws are popped out a bit and grabbing the door.

Thanks. I'm not sure if the cops need to see the damage before I start repairs.

I use Rottweiler.......Great to Work with...and no hassles.....no fees.....it's a portable system too!!

Sorry...couldn't resist! I do feel your pain, had someone lift a GPS from my Jeep a couple of years ago (not trying to make light of your situation at all)....and also had some kids unload a fire extinguisher on a Solstice I had picked up earlier that day.

Makes one feel helpless at times....but I've come to realize the more I thought about it, the more angry I'd get.

I too have looked at installing security cameras on the outside of the house that are motion activated. Haven't done it yet, but am back entertaining the idea again.

In the meantime, my Rottie is the "Security Guard"!!

It's all good. It would be worse if they had actually got in the house and cleaned us out.

Sorry to read this!! I had Stampede Security in my house a few years ago, not sure if they are still around. we had an attempted breakin. The alarms went off, they called us as they said the basement door on our walkout had been opened. Told them to call the police, who ended up racing past us on the way home. They searched the house but likely the alarms scared them off.

Most companies will install for free as long as you sign a monitoring contract.

Thanks. I'm leaning toward Alarm Force right now, as its free install and free package, and lowest monthly monitoring fee I've found so far...

Would be interested in knowing what you used, rough cost and pics of where installed. Is it somehow connected to your pc or some other device to record? Thanks in advance.
