My mpg took a small hit but I drive like a bat out of hell.. right around 14mpg. I imagine you would have the same syndrome with a SC or cam. You will probably want a higher stall... I loved getting the torque converter, but they run around 700-1k. Again... all this was included in my 4.5k.

Cam is a power adder, just as a SC is... but obviously 3-4k cheaper. I am at 440 to the wheels for a medium size cam. A SC may put you in the low 500s to the wheels. I imagine we were somewhere in the 340-370 range before either of those mods. A bit more if you have headers...

I would do headers before all of it unless of course you like a quiet ride... the cam and headers arent as loud as you would think unless you go WOT. I will try to meet up with you at one of the upcoming meets and let you see... its loud as hell at WOT, but quiet enough the wife can make phone calls with the windows up and not be bothered.

The cam was just a stepping stone for me before doing cosmetic upgrades and SC.

Yeah not to sure about adding a Supercharger without considering other upgrades to go along. WIth the much HP I have been told to think about brakes, tires, suspension and other mods to go along. You talking about a lot of power added to almost stock setup. No doubt it can be done, but what about long term.

I have an L99 and just had Headers, exhaust and new CAI along with tune. They also changed out the gearing. It handles a lot different, but wanted to go this route prior to adding a SC. Might save you some cash

With just the TB, CAI and catback, I think I would go with a cam that was ground for a blower (just make sure you know which type you want first), torque converter and headers first. I went this route so I could see what each part added to the equation. If you can afford to do it all at once, add the blower and call it done.

With just the blower would be somewhere around 475rwhp. With the additional items, you will be pretty close to 600rwhp depending on the cam and pulley choice.

With my LS3 I'm right around 650rwhp depending on the dyno. Ryne @ CMS did a great job on my cam/valve train upgrades and tuning. Jessika@SCC took care of the blower. Couldn't be happier.

Yes all that would have been great but would have added 1000s to the cost of an already pricy upgrade as well as more downtime for the engine to get yanked and rebuilt.

I've read all that but there are many cars on here that are pushing way more than that hotrod article says is safe with no issues.
that is my question.

even that article says 650-700 is fine as well with minor considerations ( all of which have already been done to my car)

I'm at 560rwhp with just the tvs2300. Stock everything including exhaust and cats. Headers you'll need, too much restriction from the cats. Once i get those i should be around 600 to the wheels. Love it. Lots of power, but you can still handle it as long as tires are warm. Cold pzeros and it liked to get loose. No problems from the maggie. Good luck.
